Quinte Red Devils Weekly Report #3 - October 1-7
Here is the weekly report for October 1-7...

The Pond at Rhino Sports & Playland- Minor Atom
The Rhino Sports Minor Atom's played another three games this week!

On Wednesday, they traveled back to Kingston to face off against the Kingston Jr. Frontenacs. The devils came out strong and scored five goals over three periods. Goals were scored by: Maclean Chisholm, Chase Cybulskie, Seth Scaletta, Brayden Davidson and Jake Gawley. Assists went to Brayden Davidson and Maclean Chisholm. The final score was 5-1 with Quinte for the win!

Saturday saw the Minor Atom's play their second and final match up to the Markham Waxers. Markham came out looking for a win and the devils couldn't find the back of the net, but in the second period Keegan Goulah assisted Brayden Davidson with a goal, followed by Chase Cybulskie to Ryan Foley for their second goal. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough and the devils took a 6-2 loss to Markham.

Sunday brought the team back to their home barn in Madoc where they took on the Richmond Hill Coyotes. It was a fast paced game that kept the fans on their feet! There was no score after the first period. The Coyotes scored two in the second but the devils kept fighting back. Jonas McCoy (from Maclean Chisholm) was the only goal of the game. Despite their hard work, the devils lost 2-1 to the Coyotes.

Foley Bus Lines- Major Bantam
The Foley Bus Lines QRD Bantams had a quiet Thanksgiving weekend with only one home game against the Peterborough Petes.  The team fought through some adversity with 4 of their players out with injury, sickness or suspension.  Never the less the balance of the team along with a couple of AP players battled hard against the Petes.

The Petes would go up 1 – 0 after the first and then up again 2 – 1 after the second.  The Devils would score twice in the third to go up 3 -2 but with only 2 seconds left in the game the Petes would score the tying 5 on 3 power play goal.

Next action is this Thursday against the Kingston Frontenacs @ 8:15pm and then Saturday vs the Barrie Jr Colts @ 3:45pm.  Both games are at the QSWC (Family Dental Centre).

Free Flow Petroleum- Minor Midget
The Free Flow Petroleum Minor Midgets took on the Clarington Toros on Saturday in a home game, at the Family Dental Centre.  After a scoreless first period, the Devils got the jump on the Toros when Clayton Farrow scored a short handed goal.  Brady Darrach made it 2 -0 in the second. The Toros managed to score in the third but Jett Butler sealed the win with a rebound off of Connor Brooks point shot. Alex Lucas was in for the win.

On deck Quinte takes on York Simcoe Express next Saturday October 13th at 5:45 at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre.  Happy Thanksgiving weekend everyone!

Madison Excavating- Major Peewee
The Madison Excavating Peewees added 4 points this weekend with 2 home wins.

Saturday had the Devils play host to the Oshawa Generals at the Cobourg CC. It was Quinte who hit the scoreboard early in the game with a shot by Liam Philip, from Thomas Kuipers and Brody Partridge to make it 1-0. The Devils would add to their lead in the second as Gage Butcher and Partridge would each add one to make it 3-0 by period's end. Assists came from Jared Langdon, Ty Therrien, Philip and Deacon Ellis. The Generals would sneak one past Quinte with a few minutes left in the third but Langdon answered back shortly after with a goal in the dying minutes, on the set up from Grayson Jin and Braedyn Rogers to make it a final 4-1. Mike McIvor stood tall in net for the Devils.

Hosting the Kingston Jr. Frontenacs on Sunday at the newly named CAA East, the Devils came out ready to play. It was Beckett Ewart on the set up from Carson Campbell and Ben Vreugdenhil who gave Quinte the lead in the first period. The second would be a scoreless back and forth battle with numerous unanswered opportunities. The score would remain 1-0 until late in the third when Langdon would make it 2-0, assisted by Campbell and Ewart. Kingston capitalized on the power play to make it a 2-1 game but the Devils held on to take the win. Dean Spry was in net for the victory.

On Deck: The Madison Excavating Peewees will host 2 home games Saturday and Sunday at the CAA East versus Richmond Hill and North Central.
