Pita Pit- Minor Peewee

The Pita Pit minor peewees hit the ice Thursday night to take on the Central Ontario Wolves. Deke Osterhout made it 1-0 with some hard work out front of the net, assisted by Pax Murphy. Dawson Mcintosh fired one from the point to make it 2-0. 


Christian Sokoljuk hit the back of the net to make it 3-1. The Devils hung on for a 3-2 victory. Liam Boyer made some keys saves throughout the game to secure the win. 


On Saturday the Devils went to battle the top team in the east, the Peterborough Petes. It was a fast paced, back and forth game, with the Devils outplaying the petes for the most part of the game. Kaiden Harmon sneaked one past the goalie to tie the game at 1-1 assisted by Andrew Macneil. Carter Chadwick made it 2-1 Devils with some hard work assisted by Ben Sherwin. The petes would tie it in the third to make it a 2-2 final. Reece Herman was solid in net for the Devils. 


On Sunday the Devils played North Central predators in Madoc. The Preds outworked the Red Devils in this one and defeated Quinte 2-0.

The Pita Pit minor peewees are in Whitby for the silver stick tournament next weekend. 

 

Foley Bus Lines- Major Bantam

The Devils hosted 2 home games this weekend.  On Saturday they faced the Richmond Hill Coyotes for the first time this season.  The first period was all Devils as they scored 4 goals while allowing only 1.  In the second the Devils found the back of the net 3 more times and the Coyotes once.  In the third the lone goal was by the Coyotes.  Final score was 7 – 3 for the Red Devils.

On Sunday the Predators visited the CAA arena to face off against your Red Devils.  The game was mostly controlled by the Devils as they out played and out shot the Predators.  The first period was held scoreless.  The Devils scored the only goal in the second and netted another in the third.  The Devils were up 2 – 0 until late in the third when the Predators netted 2 goals to tie the game 2 -2.

Next action is this Saturday against the York Simcoe Express @ 7:00pm at the QSWC (CAA Pad).

The Pond at Rhino Sports & Playland- Minor Atom

On Friday, The Minor Atom Red Devils traveled to Clarington to face the Toros.  The boys had a hard time finding the back of the net, but in the second period Grayson Hunt (assisted by Maclean Chisholm and Ryan Sherwin) scored the first and only goal for the  devils.  The final score was 5-1 for the Toros. 

On Saturday, the team went up against the Central Ontario Wolves.  After a lengthy referee delay, the game got started and the boys were on a roll.  Ryan Foley started things off in the first period.  The second period saw the devils score three more goals by Jake Gawley, Keegan Goulah and Jonas McCoy.  The devils finished it off with two more goals by Chase Cybulskie in the third.  The final score was 6-2 for Quinte.  Game assists went to: Grayson Hunt, Brayden Davidson, Pierson Clute, Gabriel Davis, Seth Scaletta and Nate Rashotte.  Charlie Vos was in net for the win.

The last game of the weekend saw the devils take on the North Central Predators in Madoc.  The game was scoreless until the second period when Chase Cybulskie scored.  Jake Gawley (assisted by Brayden Davidson and Keegan Goulah) scored twice to give Quinte the 3-1 win over the Predators.  Daniel Yeo had a strong game in net. 

The team will look for four more points when they face off against the Richmond Hill Coyotes and the Peterborough Petes this week.

 

Bonn Law- Minor Bantam

The Bonn Law Minor Bantams had two home games this week at the Cobourg Community Centre and collected another 4 points bringing their regular season record to 17-0!


The boys faced off against the Oshawa Generals midweek and skated away with a 3-0 win. Aidan Crowley was solid in net and was rewarded with the shutout and the goals came from three of our defenseman.  Christopher Brydges opened the scoring in the first with a beautiful shot, the helper credited to his defense partner Sid Wakely.  Ben Davy scored in the second period with an assist to his linemate, Tyson Carr and Wakely scored the final goal in the third with helpers to Michael Dolton and Brydges.

The boys then hosted the North Central Predators on Saturday. Liam Murphy was in net for the 7-2 victory. Devils offense came from Ethan Quick (4), Justin Murdoch (2) and Jack Dever. Assists were credited to Brydges (2), Duncan Schneider (2), Davy (2), Dolton, Josh Cunningham, Christopher Brown and Carr. 


The Devils look to continue their winning streak with upcoming games against the Barrie Colts at home on Saturday at the QSWC (FDC) at 3:45pm and hit the road on Sunday to take on the Petes in Peterborough.


Madison Excavating- Major Peewee

The Madison Excavating Peewee team were in Toronto this past weekend to participate in the Mississauga Rebels Super Series showcase.

Game 1 had the Devils matchup against Toronto Red Wings. Quinte kept pace with the Red Wings but succumb to a 6-3 loss. Scoring for the Devils were Ben Vreugdenhil, Brody Partridge and Liam Philip. Assisting in the game were Jared Langdon (2) and Thomas Kuipers. Dean Spry was in net.

Game 2 saw the Devils face their ETA opponents in the Whitby Wildcats. Quinte dominated the game scoring early on with 2 from Langdon, assisted by Caleb Martin and Kuipers. Landon Wright would score in the third, on the set up from Braedyn Rogers but Whitby battled back in the dying seconds of the game to tie the game at 3-3. Mike McIvor was in net.

Game 3 on Saturday had Quinte playing the PAL team. The Devils would come out on top with a commanding 8-3 win. Scoring for Quinte were Phillip(2), Ben Danford, Wright, Partridge(2), Langdon and Martin. Assists came from Ty Therrien(3), Gage Butcher, Vreugdenhil(2), Carson Campbell(2), Wright and Deacon Ellis (2). Spry was in net for the win.

Game 4 was verses Virtua and Quinte took another strong 5-0 win. Philip scored 2, Kuipers, Danford and Beckett Ewart with one each. Assisting on Devils goals were Partridge, Langdon(2), Vreugdenhil and Ewart. McIvor recorded the shut out.

The final day of the showcase set the Devils up against the Toronto Nationals. The game was back and forth throughout all 3 periods. Wright would score the lone goal for the Devils. The Nats would score late to tie it up 1-1. Spry was in net for the tie.

The Madison Excavating Peewees have a busy week ahead with a home game verses Clarington on Wednesday, in Kingston on Friday and home again Saturday and Sunday to host the Whitby Wildcats and the Barrie Colts.

A.Walsh Fencing- Novice

The Devils hosted the Central Ontario Wolves this past Saturday in Belleville.


It didn't take long for the Devils to get on the scoreboard as they scored thirty seconds into the game on a nice passing play to take the lead 1-0.  Two minutes later the Wolves would tie the game at 1-1, but the Devils would take over the game as they would add four more goals in the first period and go onto win the game 7-3.
Ryerson Swan and Nathan McDonald would split the goaltending duties.

Sunday The Devils would head on the road to take on the Oshawa Minor generals.  The Devils would open the scoring seven minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead. The Devils would add two more goals in the first period to take a 3-0 lead into the second period.  The second period the Devils would light the lamp four more times in the period and go onto win the game 9-1.
In goal for the Devils was Nathan McDonald.

The A.Walsh Fencing Novices only have one game next week in Madoc at one o'clock versus the York Simcoe Express.


Free Flow Petroleum- Minor Midget

Wednesday Quinte made the journey to Peterborough to take on the Petes in their second contest of the season. Even play resulted in an empty scoreboard until midway through the second period when Zack Brooks got things moving with assists from Jett Butler and Brady Darrach.  Two more goals from Butler assists coming again from Darrach, Maguire Shortt and Clayton Farrow put the Devils into a 3-0 lead going into the third period.  Peterborough managed to score once in the third but Ben Whites empty netter secured the Minor Midgets a 4-1 victory.  Alex Lucas was stellar in net.

Saturdays action was a home game versus Whitby Wildcats.  Whitby got the jump on the team with 4 successive goals in the first putting Quinte behind from the start.  Quinte managed to hit the back of the net 4 times but it wasn't enough to catch up.  Final score was a 7-4 loss.  Goals were as follows:  first period- Ethan Broek (unassisted) second period- Goal from Daniel Michaud with assists from Connor Brooks and Ben White. Third period- Goals from Erik MacNiel and Nathaniel Burelle with assists credited to Michaud(2) and Luke LaPalm.  Alex Lucas and Ethan Fraser shared net minding  responsibilities.

Next up the team will be competing in the Whitby International Silver Stick.  All games are at Iroquois Park in Whitby. Action starts Thursday evening at 5:15pm, followed by two games Friday (12:30, 8:45pm) and a game at 2:15pm on Saturday. Good luck boys!

 

McInroy Maines- Major Midget
It was a tough weekend for the McInroy Maines Major Midget Quinte Red Devils losing both games.  The boys hope to adapt and overcome to finish off the month in a tight East Division.

KKP- Major Atom

The KKP Major Atoms played 2 games over the weekend. 

On Saturday the Devils hosted North Central Predators. The Devils got down 2-0, but were able to battle back and settle for a 2-2 tie.  Nowl Wallace played net for the Devils. 

Jacob Moore and Ryland Cunningham scored for the Devils with assists to Kolby Craig (2), Rykken Ellis and Blake Leblanc. 

On Sunday the Devils travelled to play the Central Ontario Wolves.  The Devils got down early and were never able to battle back, losing 6-2.  Cohen Bedore was in net for the Devils.  Ryland Cunningham and Kolby Craig scored for the Devils.  Owen Rivers, Kolby Craig and Tavin MacDonald picked up assists. 

Up next for the Devils is a home game versus the Barrie Colts on Saturday and a road game versus the Peterborough Petes on Sunday.
