Free Flow Petroleum- Minor Midget
The Minor Midgets had a very busy week with a regular season game on Wednesday followed by three games at the ETA Showcase this weekend in Aurora.
The Free Flow Petroleum Devils hosted the Kingston Jr Frontenacs on Wednesday night where they secured the first of 6 points for the week. Connor Brooks opened up the scoring for Quinte midway through the first period with assists credited to Ben White and Daniel Michaud. But two goals by Kingston left the Devils trailing after the first. Early in the second period Brooks' hard shot tied things up again giving him his second goal of the night, Zack Brooks picked up the assist. Luke LaPalm found the back of the net in the second with an assist to Connor Brooks. LaPalm scored a second goal with assists from Jett Butler and Ethan Fraser. Kingston would score once in the third but an empty netter from Gavin Camp with assists from Erik MacNiel and LaPalm would seal the final score of 5 -3 for Quinte. Ethan Fraser was in net for the win.
The Devils travelled to Aurora to participate in the OMHA Minor Midget ETA Showcase weekend. Saturdays game was a high scoring match versus the Richmond Hill Coyotes. The Coyotes, got the jump on the boys with two quick goals in the first period but the team battled back responding with two goals from Michaud both goals set up by LaPalm with an additional assist to Ethan Broek. Third period 3 back to back power play goals shifted the score in their favour. Goals by Ben White, Connor Brooks and Zack Brooks, with assists coming from Michaud (2) Erik MacNiel, Zack Brooks, White and LaPalm. Broek scored the sixth goal of the game with White picking up an assist as well as Brady Darrach. Michaud scored an empty netter to complete a hat trick with Butler and MacNiel picking up assists. Final score- Quinte 7 Richmond Hill 4. Michaud was awarded Player of the Game and Ethan Fraser was awarded the victory in net.
Sunday the Devils played two games. The first was an exhibition against the NOHA Red Team ( Northern Ontario All Star Team) NOHA scored twice in the first period to win 2-0. Player of the Game was Nathaniel Burelle. Fraser and Lucas split goaltending responsibilities.
Later that afternoon the team would face off against Kingston for the second time in a week. Kingston scored first late in the first period but Michaud tied things up quickly with an assist from Broek, and thirty seconds later Clayton Farrow put Quinte in the lead going into the second with an assist from Maguire Shortt. Kingston tied it up in the second but a power play goal from Connor Brooks put the Devils back in the lead with assists coming from Luke LaPalm and Ben White. Connor netted an empty netter with assist from Michaud to secure 6 of 6 league points for the week. Alex Lucas was solid in net for the 4-2 win with Ben White awarded Player of the Game.
Next up the team faces Oshawa Dec 8th at the Family Dental rink in Quinte.
Pita Pit- Minor Peewee
The Pita Pit Minor Peewees played the Peterborough Petes at the Wellness Centre on Saturday. It was a tight divisional game as the Red Devils prevailed in this one 1-0. Rylan McCormack snipped one from the top of the circle off the post and in,assisted by Evan Erwin and Christian Sokoljuk. Reece Herman held his own in net with some great saves throughout the game to secure the shutout.
The Red Devils headed to Whitby on Sunday afternoon for another divisional tilt. It was a back and forth game with lots of penalties handed out in the game. Ben Sherwin scored on a rebound to tie the game at 1-1, assisted by Deke Osterhout and Mason Musclow. Sherwin would tie the game at 2-2 with a backhand from a pass by Kaiden Harmon. Sherwin capped off his big night with his third of the game to tie it 3-3 assists went to Osterhout and Mason Boyer. Harmon fired one top corner to give the Devils a 4-3 lead. Unfortunately the Wildcats scored 2 goals in the last minute to defeat the Devils 5-4. Liam Boyer was in net for Quinte.
On Deck
The Pita Pit Minor Peewees travel to Clarington to take on the Toros Friday night and are back home to play York Simcoe on Saturday in Belleville.
A.Walsh Fencing- Novice
The A. Walsh Fencing Novice Red Devils only had one game this past week as they hosted the Clarington Toros in Madoc.
The first period the Devils would carry most of the play and hit the crossbar but could not score and the period ended 0-0.
In the second period the Toros would opening the scoring to take a 1-0 lead. The Toros would add a power-play goal and take a 2-0 lead into the third period.
The score was 3-0 for the Toros in the third period. The Devils would mount a comeback and score two late goals, but would fall short 3-2 and lose the game.

Next week The Devils have two games on the schedule as they play Saturday in Richmond hill and are home in Madoc Sunday versus Peterborough.
Foley Bus Lines- Major Bantam
The Major Bantams travelled to Potsdam, NY on the weekend to compete in the Clarkson Varsity Cup tournament.

Game 4 - Quinte 6 Ottawa Valley Titans 2
With a 3 & 1 record in round robin play the Devils moved onto face the Kingston Frontenacs in the Semi-Finals on Sunday morning. Quinte would find the back of the net first but Kingston would answer right back with one of their own. After 1 period of play the score was tied a 1 goal each. In the second period your Devils would score first to take a 2-1 lead. Again Kingston would answer back and tie the game at 2 goals each. The third period was held scoreless and at the end of regulation the game was tied 2-2. The Devils would start the sudden death overtime period on a power play. Just 1 minute into OT your Devils would score taking a 3-2 win and advance to the Finals.
With only a short time to rest the Red Devils would play the Eastern Ontario Wild two hours later. Both of these teams are ranked in the top 5 of my hockey rankings so a fast pace and highly skilled game was anticipated.
You wouldn’t know that both teams were playing their 6th game in 3 days. The game started and ended strong. The first period was back and forth with both teams having their chances to score but the period would end scoreless. In the second period the Devils would score first to take the lead but the Wild would respond a minute later with one their own and the second period would end tied at 1 goal each. The Wild would score at the 3:30 mark in the third period to take the lead and unfortunately the Devils could not answer back. The Wild would score an empty net goal and win the game 3–1.
Next action is this Saturday against the Oshawa Generals @ 3:45pm at the QSWC (FDC Pad).
The Pond at Rhino Sports & Playland- Minor Atom
The Rhino Sports Minor Atom's took to the ice on Wednesday when they hosted the Kingston Jr. Frontenacs. The game was scoreless until the second period when Kingston got on the board first.
Quinte fired back with a goal from Grayson Hunt to tie the game. A few minutes later Blake Munnings scored to bring Quinte in the led. With two minutes left in the game, Quinte was on a penalty kill when, Jake Gawley scored bar down. Assists went to: Brayden Davidson, Maclean Chisholm, Keegan Goulah and Pierson Clute. Charlie Vos took the 3-1 win in net.
On Saturday, Quinte traveled to Oshawa to face the Oshawa Minor Generals. It didn't take long for Seth Scaletta to score the first goal of the game. Two more goals came in the second period scored by Grayson Hunt and Ty Leavitt. But the boys weren't finished yet and Maclean Chisholm finished it off for the 4-0 win again the Generals. Assists went to: Chase Cybulskie, Grayson Hunt and Maclean Chisholm. Daniel Yeo got the shut out in net.
The team is off to Hamilton next weekend to participate in the Hamilton Bulldog Tournament.
Bonn Law- Minor Bantam
The Bonn Law Minor Bantams secured 3 points last week with a win, a tie and a loss posting a season record of 18-3-1.
On Wednesday, the boys were outstanding in a 6-1 win over the second place Clarington Toros. Aidan Crowley was in net for the win on his home ice at the CCC. Lighting the lamp for the Devils was Ethan Quick (2), Jack Dever, Josh Cunningham, Carter McKee and Justin Murdoch. Assists were credited to Spencer Cranley, Christopher Brown, Quick (2), Dever, Murdoch, Michael Dolton, Christopher Brydges and Aiden Haller Brady.
The team then headed west on Saturday evening where they tied the Markham Waxers 2-2. Liam Murphy was between the pipes and the two Red Devil goals were scored by Jack Dever (assist to Tyson Carr) and Christopher Brown (assist to Dever & Quick). Both goals were scored in the second period.
The Devils were downed 6-2 on Sunday evening at RCAF when they faced York Simcoe Express, splitting their east/west series at 1 game each. Aidan Crowley was in net for the loss against the fast and physical YSE. QRD offense was provided by a point shot from Duncan Schneider, his first of the season, and on a beauty shot by Jack Dever (assist to Michael Dolton).
The team faces off against Kingston on Wednesday at 6:15pm at the QWSC and then travels to Clarington Saturday night.
Madison Excavating- Major Peewee
The Madison Excavating Peewees were at home this weekend to play host to the Oshawa Generals and the York-Simcoe Express, taking another 4 points in ETA play.
Saturday had the Generals playing against the Devils at QSWC. Quinte opened up the scoring in the first with a goal from Ben Vreugdenhil, assisted by Ty Therrien. Therrien would score one of his own in the first to make it 2-0. Assisting on the second goal of the game were Beckett Ewart and Vreugdenhil. The second was scoreless for both teams. Jared Langdon would make it 3-0 final in the third set on the set up from Brody Partridge and Landon Wright. Mike McIvor was in net for the shut out.
The Devils would play host to the current number one west team as they took on the York-Simcoe Express on Sunday. The Devils would score first early on with a shot from Therrien, assisted by Wright but the Express would answer back seconds later to tie the game. The Devils would retake the lead before the end of the first with a goal from Braedyn Rogers assisted by Ewart and Deacon Ellis. The Devils would add 3 goals in the second from Liam Philip and Ewart (2). Assisting in the second were Therrien, Wright and Vreugdenhil. Ewart would get his hat trick with the first goal in the third, assisted by Langdon. Wright and Partridge would each add another, assisted by Therrien (2) in the last period to make it a 8-1 victory. Dean Spry stood tall in net for the win.
The Madison Excavating Peewees will have a rare weekend off next weekend and return to league games on Dec. 12 versus the Kingston Jr. Frontenacs.
KKP- Major Atom
The KKP Major Atoms played 4 games over the past week going 1-3-0.
On Wednesday the Devils hosted the Clarington Toros and lost 3-2. Scoring for the Devils was Jack Foley and Cooper Kelly; Kaden Koutroulides, Jack Foley, Carson Lynch and Ryland Cunningham picked up assists.
On Friday the Devils travelled to Kingston and lost 3-2 to the Frontenacs. Scoring for the Devils was Koutroulides and Connor Fetterley; Koutroulides, Lynch and Jacob Moore picked up assists.
On Saturday the Devils hosted the Whitby Wildcats and lost 8-2. Scoring for the Devils was Owen Rivers and Koen Deveau-Smith; picking up assists was Foley x2, Koutroulides and Moore.
On Sunday the Devils travelled to Markham to face the Waxers and won 12-2. Scoring for the Devils was Foley x3, Craig x 2, Rivers x 2, Koutroulides, Fetterley, Moore, Deveau-Smith and Tavin MacDonald; picking up assists was Moore, Lynch, Rykken Ellis, Blake Leblanc, Deveau-Smith, Cunningham x 4, Fetterley, Foley, Koutroulides x2 and Rivers.
The Devils have another busy week coming up; they host Kingston on Wednesday and then head to Hamilton next weekend for a tourney.
