Walsh Fencing Novices win Holiday Classic Tournament....

A.Walsh Fencing- Novice

Congratulations to the Walsh Fencing Novices for winning the the 15th Annual Novice Holiday Classic.
The Novices went 5-0 this weekend to capture the Tournament Championship.  Excellent job team!

McInroy Maines- Major Midget

The McInroy Maines Major Midget Red Devils won a huge game on December 15th against the Central Wolves 6-1 in Trenton in their push for a playoff spot 

Goals

Matt Maas 37 saves 

Next home game is December 22 at the Duncan McDonald Community Gardens in Trenton 7:30 vs. Oshawa. 

Madison Excavating- Major Peewee
The Madison Excavating Peewees would add 2 points this week with a win and a loss.

The peewees hosted the Kingston Jr. Frontenacs for a mid week match up on the CAA Arena this past Wednesday.  The Devils wasted no time to take the lead in the game, scoring three unanswered goals in the first period to make it a 3-0 game. Scoring in the first were Ty Therrien, Caleb Martin and Ben Danford. Assisting in the first were Brody Partridge, Thomas Kuipers, Carson Campbell and Therrien. Therrien would add another on the set up from Partridge and Landon Wright. The Fronts would sneak a late goal in the third to make it a 4-1 victory for Quinte. Mike McIvor was in net for the win.

Sunday had the Devils host the Markham Waxers. The Waxers would take an early lead in the game scoring 2 in the first. Quinte would make it a one goal game before the end of the first with a goal from Jared Langdon on the pass from Kuipers and Ben Vreugdenhil. Langdon would go on to tie it up 2-2 in the second, assisted by Kuipers and Braedyn Rogers. Markham would add another before the end of the second and it would be the final goal of the game making it a 2-3 loss for the Devils. Dean Spry covered the duties net minding for the Devils.

Free Flow Petroleum- Minor Midget

Three games and five points for the Free Flow Petroleum Minor Midgets this week putting the Devils into second place in the East.  
Wednesday’s home game against the Peterborough Petes had a very even first period until the final minute when Daniel Michaud intercepted a Peterborough pass and snuck one in behind the goalies pads putting the Devils up by one. Peterborough answered back in the second to tie it up.   Midway through the second Michaud scored a power play goal off a pass from Erik MacNiel and Zack Brooks. Third period action had Ethan Broek pot another goal with an assist from Luke LaPalm.  Peterborough pulled the goalie but an empty netter by Michaud secured him the hat trick and propelled the team to a 4-1 win. Ethan Fraser registered the win between the pipes. 

Saturday’s home game was against the Oshawa Generals Oshawa got the hop on Quinte first thing and scored again in the second.  Quinte didn’t see the back of the net until five minutes into the third when Ben White scored and Aidan Treverton registered an assist.   In the final minutes of the game Brady Darrach scored with an assist from Nathaniel Burelle and Treverton.   Final score was a 2-2 tie. Alex Lucas was in net. 

The team was back at it Sunday afternoon with a road game against the Ajax Pickering Raiders.   Quinte got off to a quick start when Daniel Michaud scored a short handed goal in the first minute but the Raiders tied it up shortly thereafter.  Second period saw lots of action with the Raiders scoring twice and Quinte scoring four times. Goals awarded too Ethan Broek ( assists from LaPalm and Michaud ), Michaud scored twice more to earn his second hat trick of the week and Clayton Farrow with a beauty wrap around goal with assists from Aidan Treverton and Gavin Camp.  The Raiders scored once in the third period for a final score of 5-4 Quinte victory.  Ethan Fraser had great game for the win. 

Foley Bus Lines- Major Bantam

The Foley Bus Lines Major Bantams had 3 wins in 3 days.

On Friday the boys travelled East on the 401 to Kingston to take on the Frontenacs.  These 2 teams were within a point of each other at the top of the East standings so this was a big game for both teams.  The first period and the second period were held scoreless.  The third started 0-0 and it was 18-1/2 minutes into the third before Quinte would score the first goal of the game.  Quinte would had an empty net goal and take the game 2-1.

On Saturday Quinte hosted the Peterborough Petes.  Quinte would strike first 3 minutes into the game but the Petes would answer back a few minutes later to tie the game at 1-1.  It was only 14 seconds after the Petes goal that Quinte would retake the lead.  The second period was all Devils as they netted 5 more goals and took a 7-1 lead heading into the last period.  The Devils would score 3 more times in the third and win the game 10-1.

On Sunday the boys headed West on the 401 to Ajax to take on the Raiders.  This was a battle of the top team from the West vs the top team from the East.  The first period ended 0-0.  Quinte got on the board first at the 14:00 mark of the second and would take a 1-0 lead heading in the third period.  3-1/2 minutes into the third the Devils would score their second of the game.  The game would end with the Raiders on a PP but Quinte would still find the empty net to secure a 3-0 win.

Next action is this Thursday against the Whitby Wildcats @ 8:15pm at the QSWC (FDC Pad).

 

The Pond at Rhino Sports & Playland- Minor Atom
It was a busy three game week for the Rhino Sports Minor Atoms.

On Wednesday, the team hosted the Clarington Toros in Frankford.  The Devils dominated the game and took the   7-0 win.  Goals were scored by: Maclean Chisholm (x2), Brayden Davidson, Nate Rashotte (x2) and Jake Gawley (x2). Assists went to: Maclean Chisholm, Grayson Hunt, Ryan Foley, Brayden Davidson, Ryan Sherwin, Pierson Clute and Chase Cybulskie. Daniel Yeo got the shut out in net.

On Saturday, the team traveled to Fenelon Falls to take on the Central Ontario Wolves. Nate Rashotte started off the scoring, followed by Maclean Chisholm, from Ty Leavitt. The score was 2-1 at the end of the second period.  Quinte fired back with two more goals at the end of the third period.  Brayden Davidson from Maclean Chisholm and Brody Harrison from Ryan Foley for the empty net goal.  Charlie Vos took the 4-1 win in net.

Sunday, the devils took on the Whitby Wildcats.  It was a rough first period and the Devils were down 0-3, but they kept fighting.  Late in the third period, Nate Rashotte, from Maclean Chisholm, found the back of the net and the Devils were on the board. A few minutes later Jake Gawley, from Keegan Goulah, scored the second goal. It was a rough game with a total of 28 penalty minutes between the two teams.  Quinte  took a 6-2 loss against the Wildcats. 

The Minor Atoms have one last game before the Christmas Break when they look to take 2 more points over the Central Ontario Wolves!

KKP- Major Atom
The KKP Major Atom Devils played two games over the weekend. 

On Saturday the Devils travelled to Whitby to face the Wildcats and lost 3-2. 

Scoring for the Devils was Jacob Moore and Kaden Koutroulides; with assists going to Kolby Craig and Owen Rivers. 

On Sunday the Devils travelled to Oshawa to face the Jr Generals and won 2-1. 

Scoring for the Devils was Jacob Moore and Jack Foley.  

Up next for the Devils is a pair of home games before a couple of weeks off; the Devils host the Peterborough Petes on Saturday and the Clarington Toros on Sunday.

 

Bonn Law- Minor Bantam
The Bonn Law Minor Bantams hosted the Whitby Wildcats at RCAF this weekend and secured 2 points with a 4-0 win. Ethan Miedema opened QRD scoring early in the first period with an assist to Cal Uens. Two minutes later, Uens netted the second goal with assists to Miedema and Ethan Quick. QRD’s third goal came on the powerplay at the end of the first period by Jack Dever from Uens and Miedema. The fourth goal was scored by Uens with assist to Aiden Haller Brady. Liam Murphy was in net for the shut out.

The boys travel to Oshawa on Tuesday night and face off against the Generals before taking a well-deserved break over the holidays.
