World Elite Training- Major Atom
Before heading to Toronto for the Shanahan Internation tournament, the World Elite Training Atom’s hosted Peterborough for a Monday night game in Madoc.

There was no score after the first period.  Chase Cybulskie scored an unassisted goal to get things started.  Peterborough fired right back.  Nate Rashotte to Ryan Foley put the Devils in the lead.  It only took a few minutes for Peterborough to score again.  Foley scored another goal, but Quinte had to settle for a 3-3 tie with the Petes.

The Atom’s traveled to Toronto to participate in the Shanahan International Tournament where they faced off against some of the top teams in Ontario.

Game 1- vs. Toronto Titans
The Titans got on the board first, but it didn’t take long for Quinte to fire back when Keegan Goulah scored on the wrap around goal.  Brayden Davidson put one past the goalie to tie the game. Quinte was down by 1 at the end of second period.  Maclean Chisholm scored, followed by another goal by Davidson.  Chisholm found the back of the net again and Quinte was up 5-3.  Camden Sloan and Foley popped in a rebound to finish off the game.  Quinte won 7-3 against the Titans.

Game 2 vs. North Jersey Avalanche
Quinte was down after the first period and continued to play catch up for the entire game.  Goals were scored by Chisholm x 2, Rashotte and Cybulskie.  Unfortunately, Quinte couldn’t catch up and lost 5-4 against the Avalanche.

Game 3 vs. Don Mills Flyers
Quinte fought hard against the Flyers, but had a tough 7-0 loss for the third game of the tournament.

Game 4 vs. Huron Perth Lakers
For their last game of the round robin, Quinte faced the Lakers.  It was a back and forth game, but then Quinte took the lead and never looked back.  Goals were scored by: Chisholm (x5)!!, Ryan Sherwin and Sloan x2.  Quinte took the 8-5 win against Huron Perth.

Pita Pit- Major Peewee
The pita pit peewees took part in the Shanahan tournament in Toronto on the weekend. With some tough competition the Red Devils ended up 1-2-1.

The devils played Ottawa 67’s in there opener. The devils killed off 7 or 8 penalties in this one. It was a hard fought battle that ended up in a 0-0 draw. Reece Herman had a great game between the pipes for the devils.
Next up was the 6th ranked team in Ontario the Waterloo Wolves. This was an action packed game that was back and forth and probably the best all around team effort the devils have played this year as they pulled out a 3-1 victory. Ben Sherwin had 2 goals and Deke Osterhout had the other.
Liam Boyer was great in net this game for the devils in net.
Next up was Elgin Middlesex Chiefs. The devils lost this game 4-3 in overtime. Goal scorers were Kaiden Harmon, Evan Erwin and Ben Sherwin. Reece Herman was in net for Quinte.
Last game of the tournament was against the 2nd ranked team in Ontario the all mighty Toronto Jr Canadians. The devils hung tough with this powerhouse team as the game was tied 1-1 going into the third. But the wheels fell off a bit and the Canadians scored 3 beauties in the third to win this one 4-1. Lone goal was scored by Christian Sokoljuk. Liam Boyer was solid in net for the devils.

Madison Excavating- Minor Bantam
The Madison excavating minor bantams had only one game this past weekend as they hosted the Richmond Hill Coyotes at RCAF on Sunday. The Devils and coyotes battled back-and-forth through the first to end in a 0-0 tie. The next set saw Quinte take a one nothing lead with a goal scored by Caleb Martin. Coyotes would go on to tie the game again at 1-1 but it was Martin again to give the Devils the lead again. An empty netter in the third from Jared Langdon would seal the win for the devils. Glenn McInnes was in net for the 3-1 win.

Free Flow Petroleum- Minor Peewee
The hockey weekend started with a road trip to Kingston on Friday night, to play the Greater Kingston Jr. Gaels. A quiet first period, by both teams, the scoreboard recorded the first goal, in the second frame, as Matthew Airhart (assist to Riley Reid) gave Quinte the lead. To much dismay, the 3rd period was uneventful for the Minor Peewee's. The home squad netted 2 (then an empty netter) to win the game 3-1.

A quick turn-around may have been just what the Minor Peewee's needed, as this group was ready to get back to work and put Friday's loss behind them. Hosting York Simcoe Express (YSE), on Saturday afternoon, the team was on point from the drop of the puck and it remained a high-tempo game, from start to finish. The score, held firm at zero for over half the game, until Owen Rivers (from Cooper Kelly) put Quinte on the board!! Neither team slowing down, it was a contest until the bitter end. A meager 15 seconds remaining in the game, the puck was dominated by Quinte and Riley Reid (Carson Lynch) scored on the empty, to secure a 2-0 victory for the home team.

Foley Bus Lines- Minor Midget
Your 2004 Foley Bus Lines Devils kept pace in the ETA standings for a shot at first place with a couple more wins this past week in league action. Happy Halloween had the locals hosting the Clarington Toros to the Mackay Pad in a goaltending battle that stayed scoreless till the last seconds of the middle frame when the hometown team went up 1-0.

Midway through the third, QRD added an insurance marker before tacking on an empty netter to take the contest with a 3-0 final. This past Saturday the minor midgets traveled to Ajax-Pickering looking to sweep the 3 game season series with the Raiders and add another two crucial points in the standings. The special teams giveth and taketh away in this one as the Devils used a couple shorthanded goals to build up to a 4-1 lead and then held on through a penalty filled third to come away with a 4-3 victory.

Next Action…...After a practice Tuesday the 04’s have four games in six nights. Hosting the Petes Thursday 7th 8:30pm at Mackay, on the road Saturday 9th in Richmond Hill at 4pm, back home to the North Central Predators Sunday 10th 1:30pm at CAA and then traveling down the 401 to Kingston to take on the Gaels Tuesday 12th at 9pm.
