Quinte Red Devils Weekly Report: Nov 18-24
Here is the QRD Weekly Report for the week of Nov 18-24...

Pita Pit- Major Peewee (U13)
The Pita Pit Peewees travelled to Whitby for a Saturday night tilt with the Wildcats. It was a solid team effort in this one. Christian Sokoljuk opened the scoring with a nice solo effort to make it 1-0. Pax Murphy made it

2-0 with some nifty moves and beat the goalie high assisted by Ethan Kenney. Whitby made it 2-1 but it was Deke Osterhout who would put the devils ahead 3-1 with a nice shot from the goal line that went top cheese. Osterhout put the icing on the cake with a feed from Evan Erwin and Kaiden Harmon to give the Red Devils a 4-1 win. Liam Boyer was solid in net for Quinte.

On Sunday the Barrie Colts were in town for an afternoon game in Belleville. Quinte had some nice chances but the Colts came to play in this one as they defeated the Devils 2-1. Lone goal came from Deke Osterhout. Reece Herman was good in net for Quinte.

Free Flow Petroleum- Minor Peewee (U12)

It certainly was a strong showing on Saturday, as the Minor Peewee's hosted the top ranked Barrie Jr. Colts, in Belleville.

The pace was fast and the play was to and fro, the first period only saw one goal by Barrie, half way through the frame. Quinte, showing their determination and teamwork, battled through various setbacks including a 5-on-3 penalty kill. Dominating the period, Quinte tied it up when Riley Reid (Kolby Craig with the assist) put the home team on the board, 1-1!  Into the third it went, with tension on the ice and the visiting fans keeping a close eye on the time clock, after squeaking ahead with a 2-1 lead. The Quinte boys pushed on, in a great display of grit and determination. A minute twenty three left on the clock, Barrie took the lead to 3-1. The final score recorded was 4-1, as result of an empty netter during the final seconds.

Our next home game: Thursday, November 28th vs Ajax-Pickering, 7pm at the QSWC

Foley Bus Lines- Minor Midget (U16)
Even though the Foley Bus Lines Minor Midget were down three players from the lineup this past weekend, the Devils succeeded in having significant results that vaulted them in to the division lead in the ETA standings. On Saturday, the Devils had the visiting Barrie Colts drop by the Mackay for a 3:30 start. The hometown squad felt their way through an altered lineup to put two up in the first before finding their groove to add four more in the second and five more in the third to close out the game with a 11-1 victory.

The away black jerseys were thrown in the bag for a trip to Aurora on Sunday as the previously league leading York-Simcoe Express hosted your local minor midgets. QRD got on the board late in the first only to have YSE tie it early in the second. But before the second had ended, the Devils had built up a two goal lead heading to the third. Although the Express came on hard in the third the Devils pushed back just as hard and held on for a big two points and the division lead with a 3-2 final score.

The Bonn Law Major Bantams split their games this weekend with an exciting win and a disappointing loss.

They headed west on Saturday night to face a strong York Simcoe Express squad and came away with a 4-1 win. Miedema chipped in 2 goals, with Jack Dever netting another. Additional assists credited to Dever and Uens.

Aidan Crowley started on Sunday afternoon as they hosted the Oshawa Generals. Although the boys established the lead in period two with Miedema scoring a Dever rebound, Oshawa was quick to answer on a powerplay shot from the point.  Ethan Quick secured a 2-1 lead with assists to Dever and Tyson Carr but penalty trouble continued for QRD.  Oshawa capitalized on their powerplay securing the game winner with 0.7 seconds left in the game for a 3-2 QRD loss.

The team looks to regroup this weekend with a road game Friday night in Peterborough. They host Central Ontario Wolves Saturday at 330 at the Mackay arena and at 1:30 Sunday at the CAA.
