McCoy was picked in the first round, fifteenth overall in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection by the Petes.

Donovan is a 5’11.5”, 177lbs defenceman, and in 35 games he recorded 6 goals, 29 assists, 35 points and 40 penalty minutes, and contributed 5 assists in 8 playoff games. He lives in Belleville, and was named the OMHA Minor Midget Player of the Year. He also appeared in 2 games for the OJHL’s Wellington Jr. A Dukes.

“Committing to the Petes is a huge honour and super exciting,” exclaimed McCoy. “I’d like to thank all the people who have helped me get this far, especially my parents and step parents for always supporting me in every way.”

The Battalion selected Wakely from the QRD minor midgets in the second round, 30th overall, of the OHL Priority Selection on April 4. A five-foot-11, 164-pound resident of Port Hope, Ont., the right shot scored 30 goals and earned 42 assists for 72 points with 62 penalty minutes in 36 games before adding 11 points, including four goals, in eight playoff games.

“A huge moment in my life, thanks to the North Bay Battalion,” said Wakely, who turned 16 on March 5.
