As of Thursday July 23, 2020, all aspects of the 2020-2021 AAA hockey season are completely uncertain. There are newspaper articles explaining various scenarios that may or may not be under consideration, and there are many opinions and rumours out there on social media and the web. We are striving to provide clear, accurate information to our members and potential members. Therefore we will not speculate on when the tryouts will happen, or when the hockey season will begin.
The only things that are certain are:
1. Things will be very different, and …
2. All return to play decisions will be made by the provincial government, the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF), the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA), and the municipal governments and health units within the Quinte Zone.
Under these uncertain circumstances it is very difficult to plan and prepare for the return of hockey. We will be required to do things differently, and it is very likely that tryouts will be very different from previous seasons. (Even before the pandemic, Hockey Canada had mandated a new tryout process for our younger players.)
In order to help us prepare and plan for whatever our upcoming season looks like, we will be opening On-line Registration for the 2020-2021 hockey season on August 1. There will be NO payment at this time, however this process will be very important in determining ice requirements, and scheduling when the tryouts are actually allowed to happen. It will also allow us to communicate with you directly via email.
Registration will open on Saturday August 1, and run until Monday August 24.
