QRD Weekly Report - Monday Oct 25, 2021

U11- Borchert’s Roofing 

The Borchert’s Roofing Quinte Red Devils U11 AAA Team earned two more wins this weekend, to improve their record to 5-0 in league play. On Saturday, the Devils were home to the North Central Predators. Cam Steven and Jaxson Plummer each scored a pair of goals in the 6-1 win. Thomas Marsden and Rowyn Haley also found the back of the net to round out the scoring. Assisting on the goals was Austin Pettey, Cam Stevens, Oliver McCulloch, Miller Nicholson (2), Mason Whalen (2), and Rowyn Haley (2). Matt Travers was between the pipes for the win. 

The Devils were back in action on Sunday, and they skated to a 5-0 win over The Clarington Toros. Lighting the lamp for the Devils was James Gullage, Shea Teather (2), Mason Whalen, and Rowyn Haley. Chipping in with assists on the goals was Noah Hughes, Austin Pettey, Grady Riley and Cameron Stevens. Dax Sage earned the shut out in the win 

 

U15- Pita Pit 
On Friday, October 22, with Reese Herman in net, the Pita Pit U15s played a hard fought game at York-Simcoe. After two periods of play, the game was tied 0-0 but the Red Devils fell short in the third when the Express came out strong and scored three quick ones at the beginning of the period. The game ended in a 3-0 loss.


On Saturday, the Pita Pit Red Devils won a battle against the North Central Predators. Going into the third period down 2-1 (goal by Evan Erwin), Liam Boyer protected the pipes and the team came back to win the game with goals from Ben Sherwin, Parker Fergusson and a last minute empty-netter from Brody Nielissen to ensure the win.

The Red Devils have a busy week ahead starting with a game on Thursday, October 28th against their rivals, the Kingston Junior Gaels at 8:30 pm at the Invista Center. On Saturday, they’re on the road to take on the Peterborough Petes and then on Halloween they once again take on the Junior Gaels at home in Napanee at 7:30 pm. 

 

U13- Environmental 360 Solutions 
Saturday, the E360 Solutions U13 Red Devils travelled up the road to face the Whitby Wildcats. There was no score after the first period and Quinte was down 2-0 at the end of the second.  Quinte came out hard in the third period when Maclean Chisholm passed to Ryan Foley during a power play and got Quinte on the board.  Blake Munnings followed with a shot from the point to tie the game.  Lily Reid would get the 2-2 tie in net. 

Sunday, the team hosted the North Central Predators in Madoc.  The sticks were hot! Nate Rashotte scored 4 goals and Chase Cybulskie added another during the power play in the first period alone.  Assists went to Jonas McCoy and Chisholm.  Wyatt Whalen made a great pass to Keegan Goulah for a goal in the second and Ryan Sherwin added another in the third.  Charlie Vos would take the 7-2 win in net and tally another 2 points for the Devils. 

Just one game on the schedule next week, when the Devils face the Oshawa Generals. 

 

U14- Free Flow Petroleum 
Saturday had the U14 Free Flow Petroleum Devils travel to Lindsay amidst their Roger’s Hometown Hockey festivities, to square off against the Central Ontario Wolves (COW). Quite a physical game, the U14’s were not offered a smooth road to victory. Trailing for the first period and unable to secure the lead until later in the game, the U14’s persevered. Goaltending duties by Cohen Bedore, the Devils drove home with a 6-3 victory. Earning points during Saturday’s game were: Jake Campbell (Jake Moore and Kaden Koutroulides), Jack Foley (Grayson Walst), Matthew Airhart (Max Dubé and Moore), Rhett Coulson (unassisted), Foley (Noah Lesser and J. Campbell) and Dubé (J.C. Lemieux).  

 

On Sunday, the U14s returned the hosting favour as COW visited the Devils. Katste Brant earned the shutout in the 9-0 victory. Scoring for the U14 Devils: Moore (Airhart and Lesser), Koutroulides (Dubé and Lesser), Airhart (Koutroulides and Ryan Babbs), Moore (Dubé and Babbs), Foley (Lemieux and Lesser), Liam Campbell (Coulson and Dubé), J. Campbell (Lemieux and Babbs), Lemieux (J. Campbell) and Lemieux (Walst and L. Campbell).  

 

Next game: Wednesday night at 7:45pm, the U14s play host to the Ajax-Pickering Raiders, at the Wellness Centre.  

 

U18- McInroy-Maines Construction
The Quinte McInroy-Maines U18 Red Devils picked up a win and a loss in two ETA league games this week.

On Tuesday night, the U18s earned their road warrior label, defeating the Kingston Junior Gaels 4-3 in Kingston.  Carter McKee, Bailey Pipe, Justin Murdoch and Jack Lowry scored for QRD while Ethan Osborne (2), Lowry, Murdoch, Joey Coates, Cooper Kellar and Spencer Horgan picked up assists.  Brady Spry picked up the win between the pipes. 


On Saturday, the Red Devils fired 41 shots on goal but lost 3-2 to the Markham Waxers.
Aiden Haller-Brady and Ethan Osborne scored for QRD while Trent Williams and Alex Delisle picked up assists.  Brayden Friedrich took the loss in goal. 

 

U12- Stampkrete Concrete Contracting 

The Stampkrete QRD U12’s hosted the York-Simcoe Express this past Saturday in Marmora. After giving up a short-handed goal early in the game, QRD came out firing with goals from Andrew Dewar, Coen Lowry, and Joey Seguin x2 taking a commanding 4-1 lead after the 1st period. Coen Lowry would go on to score another in the second, before capping off the hat-trick in the 3rd for a convincing 6-1 victory. Ryerson Swan got the start in net, making some key saves to secure the win! 

On Sunday, the Stampkrete QRD U12’s travelled to Clarington to face off against a strong Toro’s team. Again, QRD got off to a slow start and found themselves down by 2 going into the 3rd period. The momentum began to shift in the 3rd in QRD’s favour, as Lauchlan Whelan received a great outlet pass from Maeve Aird and scored a highlight reel goal! Keeping the pressure on, Whelan scored his second of the game, blasting a shot by the Clarington goalie from the high slot (assisted by Joey Seguin). However, Clarington’s powerplay struck again (2 for 3 on the day) to secure a 3-2 victory over QRD. Nathan Ferris took the loss for Quinte, but played a great game, making some timely saves to keep the game within reach! 

Next Game: Saturday Oct.30th vs. Central Ontario Wolves 4:45pm Marmora Arena 

 

U16- Madison Excavating 
The U16 Quinte Red Devils notched 2 more wins this past week bringing us to a 7-0 record!  

Friday the Devils traveled to Clarington beating the Toros 4-2.  Goals scored by Cocek, Rogers(2) and Partridge. Assists by Kuipers, Donnelly, Langdon, Danford(2) and Ewart. In net Mike McIvor.   

On Sunday there was another road trip to Richmond Hill beating them 4-1in their own house.  Goals scored by Rogers, Langdon, Ewart and Donnelly. Assists by Danford,Vreugdenhil, Langdon, Storms, Kuipers and Toms. In net for the win Glen McInnes.  

The Devils have 3 games on deck this week starting with a home game Thursday verses the York Simcoe Express and two away games Sat verses Peterborough and Sunday the Barrie Colts. 

U10- Gillespie Tree Services 
The Gillespie Tree Services QRD U10’s travelled to Lindsay to take on the Central Ontario Wolves for their first away game of the regular season. Rogers Hometown Hockey was being celebrated in Lindsay this weekend and the team was lucky enough to receive player introductions before the game. Once the puck dropped the Wolves scored an early goal to take a 1-0 advantage. However, with a great display of hard work QRD responded quickly and then took the lead shortly after that. The final score was 8-2 for QRD and the team picked up their first regular season victory. Hayden Tripp and Logan Skutovich split time between the pipes and they both played very well. Offensively the team showed great teamwork and ended up with eight different goal scorers. 

 

QRD Goal Scorers: Hewett Tejnor, Blake McManus, Reed Kavanagh, Kingston Holzmann, Robbie Robinson, Jack Seeney, Kade Osterhout and Everett Brown.
