Weekly Report - Monday November 8, 2021
Here is the QRD Weekly Report for the week ending Nov 7, 2021...

U15- Pita Pit

The Pita Pit Quinte U15 Red Devils waxed Markham on Wednesday night at home with a whooping 9-1 win. Reese Herman held strong, only letting in one goal early in the game. The Red Devils shot the lights out with goals from Evan Erwin (4), Avery Wease, Sunny Fanjoy, Ben Sherwin, Zack Carrier and Vincent Larose-Amyot.
The Red Devils have a bit of a break now and will be well rested when they hit the road to take on the Central Ontario Wolves on November 12th at 7pm.

U10- Gillespie’s Tree Service

The Gillespie’s Tree Service QRD U10’s travelled to Toronto this weekend to take part in the annual Shanahan Tournament. Going into this particular tournament, the young group anticipated a challenge and it unfortunately lived up to their expectations. The QRD team had faced a tough group with powerhouse teams such as Toronto Jr. Canadiens and the Barrie Jr. Colts. QRD finished the tournament 0-4 while being outscored 26-6. Although the numbers on the scoreboard or the stats in the standings weren’t ideal, the team continues to develop as a group and take the season one game at a time.

The team will now turn their attention to this weekend where they will play three league games in as many days. The group looks forward to a positive week of practice and will continue to improve each day while maintaining the “team first” mentality.

Next Up: Friday November 12th @ Oshawa Generals

U13- E360 Solutions

The E360 Solution Devils hosted the Peterborough Petes for a mid-week game in their home barn. Late in the first period, Blake Munnings took a shot and Keegan Goulah was there for the rebound. A minute later, on the power play, Nate Rashotte to Ryan Sherwin for a beauty goal.  Quinte ends the first period up 2-0. Ty Leavitt, assisted by Maclean Chisholm, found the back of the net and the devils end the second period up 3-2. Ryan Sherwin, from Cole Coughlin would score and then Goulah would find the empty net to give Quinte the 5-3 win over the Petes.  Charlie Vos was strong between the pipes.

U12- Stampkrete Concrete Contracting

The Stampkrete QRD U12’s started the week off with the rare weekday game on Tuesday Nov.2nd hosting the Oshawa Generals in Marmora. After a scoreless opening period, Lauchlan Whelan potted one halfway through the second, blasting a one timer from a nice feed from Andrew Dewar and Trent Clow. Although it seemed like 1 goal might be all it took to seal the victory, Oshawa disagreed and potted 1 of their own with only 2 minutes left to play. Time would run out as QRD badly outshot the opposition, and the game ended in a 1-1 tie. Nathan Ferriss took the tie in net.

On Saturday QRD again hosted the Oshawa Generals in Marmora. With their team sponsor (Stampkrete Concrete Contracting) in attendance cheering them on, Quinte put forth a much stronger showing. In the 1st Trent Clow opened the scoring, from Brechyn Aird and Drew Wright. Followed by Lauchlan Whelan, with assists to Joey Seguin and Easton Thompson. In the 2nd QRD continued their offensive explosion with goals by Trent Clow (2), Joey Seguin, and Coen Lowry (assists to Maeve Aird (2), Whelan, Ryder Hooey, and Kalum Phillips). With a 6-1 lead going into the 3rd, QRD would go on to score 2 more (Whelan from Seguin, Clow from Lowry and Ewan Dahle) to cap off an 8-1 victory. Ryerson Swan took the win in net!

Travelling to Richmond Hill on Sunday, the Stampkrete QRD U12’s skated to another 8-1 victory! Scoring for QRD was Whelan (3), Clow (3), Lowry, and Ben Hunt. Assists were hard to come by in this one with Thompson, Seguin, Dahle, and Dawson Chalk being the only beneficiaries. Nathan Ferriss took the win in net and the QRD U12’s pushed their regular season record to 6-2-2.
