U10- Gillespie’s Tree Service

The Gillespie Tree Services QRD U10’s travelled to Aurora this weekend to battle a strong York-Simcoe Express squad. The Express jumped out of the gate with two goals and led 2-0 after the first period. The action was back and forth in the second period as the QRD fought to gain some momentum, however the score remained 2-0 heading into the 3rd period. Finally, the resilience of QRD paid off as they got on the board with an early power play goal in the 3rd. As the 3rd period continued goaltender Hayden Tripp kept QRD in the game with some key saves. QRD was able to tie the game at 2-2 late in the 3rd period and depart Aurora with a well earned point in the standings.

Through the first 7 league games of the season QRD owns a 3-2-2 record which has them near the middle of the group. While the theme of this season is development and teamwork, it is also great to see the group have some success.

QRD Goal Scorers: Kade Osterhout and Robbie Robinson

Coaches Corner with Head Coach Andrew Brown:
“We really have started to define our character as a team. This weekend we travelled to play a top place team, we knew what the challenge was all about and rose to the occasion. The never-give-up attitude our group shows has been very impressive. Super proud of our group.”
