QUINTE RED DEVILS WEEKLY REPORT – Sept. 30, 2025
As the Quinte Red Devils AAA season begins to ramp up, we have action to report from a couple of teams. Many squads are still in preseason tune-up mode, so stay tuned—more updates will be coming soon as regular season play gets underway.
U16 – The Hockey Stick Man U16 Red Devils Preseason Update
The U16s wrapped up their preseason at the Toronto Titans Showcase Tournament with an impressive showing.
Quinte opened with a commanding 8-1 win over Guelph, followed by a 6-1 victory against Sarnia-Lambton, highlighted by a hat trick from Austin Preston. A tight battle with the Toronto Jr. Red Wings ended in a 2-1 Devils win, and a 1-1 draw with Don Mills secured top spot in their pool.
In the round of 16, the Devils fell to the Markham Majors 3-1 despite a strong effort. Trent Clow scored the lone goal, assisted by Lauchlan Whelan and Andrew Laurin.
ON DECK: The U16 Red Devils open their regular season at home on Saturday, October 4 vs. York-Simcoe Express. Puck drop is 3:45pm at the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre (Mackay Pad).
U11 – Quinte Red Devils Preseason Update
The Quinte Red Devil U11 AAA have had a busy preseason, traveling to Toronto Sept. 19th-21st to compete in the 31st Annual Friendship Tournament, hosted by the Toronto Marlboros. The division brought together 25 teams from across Ontario and the United States for some great preseason action.
After a tough opening game against the host team on Friday afternoon, the U11s battled hard versus the Windsor Spitfires in their second match up. The back and forth action saw the first period ending in a 2-2 draw. Windsor would find the back of the net twice in the second, with Quinte then scoring seconds before the buzzer to make it 4-3. Both teams would score once more in the hard fought third period, with the game ending in a 5-4 loss for Quinte.
On Saturday, the Red Devils would start the day in a match against the Buffalo Jr. Sabres. In a tense battle, QRD struck first, finding the back of the net in the second period. Buffalo would answer back, seeing Quinte down 1-2 at the buzzer. The U11s did not give up, battling relentlessly through the 3rd, scoring a tying goal and ending the game in a 2-2 draw.
With momentum building over the last 3 games, the U11 Red Devils faced the Mississauga Rebels on Saturday afternoon. The U11s put in a solid effort through 3 periods, ending their weekend with a 5-3 win.

On Saturday, September 27th the U11 Quinte Red Devils headed east for exhibition games against the Seaway Valley Rapids and the Rideau St. Lawrence Kings. The U11s came out strong against the Rapids, with great passing and team work the entire game. It paid off, leading to a 7-2 victory for the Devils. In the second game, the Kings capitalized on some penalty trouble, scoring 3 power play goals and ending the game in a 5-4 loss for Quinte.
On Deck: The U11 Red Devils are excited to be opening their regular season play this week, facing off against the Peterborough Petes at the Healthy Planet on Friday, October 3rd (6:15pm). On Sunday, the team will travel to Markham to meet the Waxers, with puck drop at 1pm. Let's go!!
