QUINTE RED DEVILS REPORT - March 16, 2026
It was another busy week across the organization as playoff races reached their final stages and several QRD teams punched their ticket to the OMHA Championships. With strong performances up and down the lineup, the Quinte AAA Red Devils continue to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the season. The combined organizational record now sits at 230-91-30.

U14 – Three Wins Clinch OMHA Championship Spot

The Madison Excavating U14 Quinte Red Devils had a tremendous week, winning all three games to finish with 17 of a possible 20 playoff points and secure the top spot in East Pool B.

Monday in Trenton, QRD defeated Ajax-Pickering 2-0 behind a power play goal from Matthew Parsons and a late insurance marker from Cooper Plumley. Ben Larmer earned the shutout.

Wednesday against Markham, the Devils rolled to a 6-1 victory with goals from AP Kash Nelson (2), Cooper Plumley, Antonio Auciello (2) and Matthew Parsons. Hayden Tripp was solid in net.

Sunday in Whitby, QRD secured their OMHA berth with a thrilling 4-3 win. Goals came from Plumley, Auciello and Parsons before Kaiden Sprackett buried the game-winner late in regulation.

U16 – Strong OMHA Championship Run and OHL Cup Berth

The HockeyStickMan U16 Red Devils travelled to Peterborough for the OMHA Championships and delivered a strong performance.

QRD opened with a 3-0 shutout win over Ajax-Pickering behind goals from Lauchlan Whelan, Austin Ottenhof and Jax Martin, while Landen White earned the shutout.

After a 4-1 loss to Niagara North Stars, the Devils responded with a dramatic 3-2 win over Southern Tier, highlighted by a late game-winning goal from Whelan.

The Devils advanced to the semi-finals where they battled the Credit River Capitals in a thrilling 4-4 contest before falling in overtime.

With their top-four OMHA finish, QRD has qualified for the OHL Cup, taking place March 30–April 4 at Scotiabank Pond in Toronto.


U18 – Season Ends at OMHA Championships

The Quinte AAA Red Devils U18 squad travelled to Peterborough for the OMHA Championships to close out their season.

QRD opened with a tight overtime loss to North Shore, earning a point in the standings. The Devils then battled back to defeat the Guelph Gryphons 4-2 behind goals from Maddox Vespa, Ryan Babbs, Connor Fetterley and Isaac Tracze.

In the final matchup, QRD fell to the Burlington Eagles.

Congratulations to the graduating players who have now completed their minor hockey careers:
Alex Beaupre, Ryan Babbs, Noah Lesser, Liam Grant, Owen Rivers, Wyatt Albright, Maddox Vespa, Connor Fetterley, Gavin Parliament, Oliver Coyle, Dan Foster and Sterling Poff. Best of luck in the future.


U10 – OMHA Championship Spot Secured

The BIHC U10 Quinte Red Devils have officially clinched a spot at the OMHA Championships.

After a tough road loss in Whitby on Thursday, the Devils bounced back Sunday in Madoc with a strong 4-2 victory over the North Shore Whitecaps to finish their playoff schedule.

QRD now turns its focus to the OMHA Championships in Newmarket (March 20–22).

U11 – Challenging Playoff Weekend

The U11 Quinte Red Devils faced a difficult playoff weekend against Markham and Peterborough.

Saturday in Markham, QRD built a 4-2 lead before the Waxers rallied to force overtime and secure a 5-4 win.

Sunday in Marmora, the Devils battled hard but fell 4-1 to the Peterborough Petes, with Lucas Fraser scoring Quinte’s lone goal.

U12 – Playoff Run Ends with 7–1 Record

The Breakaway Fuels U12 Red Devils wrapped up an outstanding playoff run with a 7-1 record.

Saturday in Barrie, QRD defeated the Colts 5-2 after breaking a 2-2 tie with three unanswered goals late in the game.

Sunday in Rama, the Devils dominated North Central 6-0, finishing strong heading into the OMHA Championships.

U13 – Perfect Playoff Run Continues

The 417 Bus Line U13 Red Devils remained perfect in playoff action, improving to 6-0 with two more victories.

Saturday in Aurora, QRD defeated York-Simcoe 4-2 behind goals from Beebe, Whelan, Gilchrist and Campbell.

Sunday in Pickering, the Devils earned a 5-3 win over Ajax-Pickering with Norton scoring twice.
