Game Day – Series Opener - Game #1 VS York Simcoe Express
The Quinte Minor Midget Red Devils will travel to St. Andrews College in Aurora to take on the top team in the West Division of the ETA for Game #1 of the Series.

The Minor Midgets defensive core group will be tested with the potent offence that the York Simcoe Express team displayed on a regular basis during the season which showcased the leading goal scorer and point getter in the entire league. The task will be shared amongst six of the top “D” in the league and with a well-rested Carden Guerin back in the line-up after missing 6 games; he will be an added boost to the group. These six defensemen are the same group that were in the OMHA Finals last year and are up to the challenge of the unfinished business ahead.

The goal tending responsibilities given to Ethan Taylor and Brennan Bush will also need to be stellar in order to contain the attack of the York Simcoe forwards. This is nothing new as Brennan and Ethan have met the challenge many times all season long and need to be the backbone of the team in this series. Both of these goalies finished in the top 5 of the league for goals against and will be up to the challenge.

The offensive group of forwards for the Minor Midgets will need to create opportunities that begin in the defensive end as they facilitate the #DEFENCE-WINS-CHAMPIONSHIPS mentality that is required in the second season. All nine forwards have the ability to play defensively in their own end and neutral zone, create opportunities down low in the offensive zone and put the puck in the net. They will need to execute these details in order to be successful against a stingy York Simcoe team, no team scored more goals in the regular season than QRD so they too will be up to the challenge ahead.

This year’s version of the 2001 Quinte Red Devils is as a complete of a team as they have ever been and their record as a #Team indicates they understand the #TeamFirst mentality and now they get to prove it to everyone in the most important series thus far. #GO DEVILS GO

Game #2 will be Sunday in Madoc @ 3pm followed by Game #3 back in Aurora @ 7:30pm.
