This game was exciting right from puck drop with both teams trading scoring chances, Quinte carried the pace of play for the majority of the contest getting scoring chance after scoring chance but just couldn't capitalise, the game would stay 0-0 heading into the third and final period. In the third Quinte push and push and finally with 6 minutes left Trent Clow (Maeve Aird, Joey Seguin) would find the back of the net to give Quinte the lead late, but Whitby did not go away as they would tie the game up at one on a power play goal in the final three minutes, regulation solved nothing, 1-1 heading into OT.
