They picked up two wins this past weekend, improving their league record to 7-0.
Saturday was a home game at the CAA against the Barrie Colts. After a close game for the first two periods, the Red Devils would pull away in the third. They skated to a 5-2 win. Goals were scored by Cohen Reid (2), Kash Nelson, Noah Gilchrist and Will Beebe. Picking up assists were Nelson, Gilchrist, Max Norton, Evan Andrews and Matt Dawson. Lily Groeneveld was rock solid in net picking up the win and was also named Player of the Game.
Sunday they travelled to St.Andrew’s College in Aurora to take on the York-Simcoe Express. The first period was scoreless after both teams traded chances. In the second period Evan Andrews would score from Brayden Straughan. The score after the 2nd period was 1-0 for Quinte. The Express would tie the game with just under eight minutes left in the game but Kash Nelson would give the Red Devils the lead 30 seconds later, with Will Beebe and Max Norton assisting. Nelson would score his second goal of the game two minutes later, with Beebe and Mac Brown assisting. That would make the final 3-1 for Quinte. Blake Laurin was strong between the pipes, picking up the win. Graydon Tucker was named Player of the Game.
On Deck: The 417 Bus Line U11 Red Devils have a busy week coming up with four road games in five days. Wednesday they are in Clarington to take on the Toros. Friday they head north to play the Barrie Colts. Saturday it’s a afternoon match up in Orillia, taking on the North Central Predators and Sunday they travel to Whitby to take on the Wildcats.
