Free Flow Petroleum U10s take part in OMHA Championships
The Free Flow Petroleum U10 Red Devils faced off against the Whitby Wildcats, Halton Hurricanes and Grey-Bruce Highlanders at the OMHA Championships in Newmarket on the weekend.

To start things off, the Devils met the Whitby Wildcats on Friday morning at Magna Centre in Newmarket, with Emerson Courtney standing tall in net for Quinte. The Wildcats found the back of the net in the first period and twice in the second. Quinte battled back in the second period, with goals by Walker Elrick and Beckham Nightingale. Chipping in with assists were Jase Sage and Blake Unger. With the score tight at 3-2 heading into the third period, Whitby scored twice more, ending the game 5-2.

On Friday afternoon, the U10s faced off against the Halton Hurricanes, with Finn Harvey in net. Quinte dominated the first 2 periods, with Blake Unger, Bodhi Yearwood and Bentley May lighting the lamp for the U10s. Picking up assists were Beckham NIghtingale, Hudson Silverburg and Pearce McCormick. Halton answered back in the 3rd with 2 goals, but Bentley May, on a pass from Mason Cooke, picked up one more for Quinte, with the score 4-2 at the final buzzer.

On Saturday, the Devils faced off against the Grey-Bruce Highlanders with Emerson Courtney in net for the first half and Finn Harvey for the second half of the game. Some penalty trouble for the U10s in the 2nd and 3rd periods saw the Highlanders score 3 power play goals and an empty netter in the final minutes, seeing the final score 6-1 for the Highlanders. Scoring the lone goal for Quinte was Bentley May, assisted by Pearce McCormick.

The Free Flow Petroleum U10 AAA worked hard and had a commendable tournament, having played both the Whitby Wildcats and Grey-Bruce Highlanders, who ended up being the tournament Championship match-up, with Whitby earning the Red Hats for 2024-2025, in a 3-1 final over the Highlanders.
