U11's Come Home with 5 of 6 Points
This weekend saw the Breakaway Fuels U11 Red Devils head north for three games in three days.

Friday night saw the boys arrive in Orillia to face the North Central Predators.  Despite the long drive this one was all Quinte with the Devils scoring 2 in the first, 5 in the second and 2 more in the third to come away with a 9-1 win.  Scoring in this one was Jayden Stehlik (2), Jackson Simpson, Kai Mackie, Evan VanEgmond, Tripp Plumley, Ethan Dowling, Kolton Solmes, and Jared Russell.  Assists went to Reid Haley (2), Mackie (2), Dowling, Solmes, VanEgmond, Plumley, Avery Thickson and Wade Robinson.  Deacon Vos was strong in the pipes for the win.  VanEgmond took home player of the game honors.

Saturday afternoon the kids had a rematch of last years OMHA finals with a tough Barrie Colts team.  The young Devils got things going half way through the first when Mackie bulged the twine.  Assists went to Solmes and Dowling.  Ryder Bradford would extend the lead before the end of the first with a nice point shot assisted by Stehlik and Greyson Rennie.  The Colts would cut the lead in half just a minute into the second period.  It would stay that way until the Devils would score two goals in 30 seconds to close out the second period.  First was Solmes from Dowling and Mackie and then Mackie from Charlie Dwyer.  Dowling would make it 5-1 half way through the third from Solmes and Dwyer quickly followed by a goal by Plumley just 20 seconds later.  That would be all they needed and the game would end 6-2.  Jordan Andrews stood tall for the entire game to get the win in net.  Kolton Solmes was named player of the game.

Sunday saw the same two teams battle each other again.  As expected Barrie came to play and would take a 2-0 lead just three and half minutes into the game.  This one was a penalty filled affair but the young Devils continued to battle back.  Jackson Simpson would make it 2-1 with just over five minutes left in the second but Barrie would mange to score a powerplay goal with just 33 seconds left in the second to regain their two goal lead.  The Breakaway Fuels boys dug deep and played a great third period and were able to battle back and score two goals one by Solmes and Simpsons second of the game would tie it with 8 mins left.  The last 8 minutes had lots of exciting action but neither team was able to score and this one ended in a 3-3 tie.  Deacon Vos preserved the tie with several big saves during a couple of 5 on 3 penalty kills.  Wade Robinson took home player of the game.

On Deck has the team playing their first home game of the season on Saturday at noon vs the Peterborough Petes on the Mackay Pad before they hit the road for a Sunday afternoon game in Woodville against the Central Ontario Wolves.
