Breakaway Fuels U11's Continue Strong Play
The Quinte U11 Red Devils carried last weekends strong play at the Silver Stick into league play and picked up another four points

Saturday they played host to the Ajax-Pickering Raiders at the Keeler Centre in Colborne.
The first period was a hard fought ten minutes and a power play goal with just over one minute left by Kai Mackie from Jackson Simpson and Ethan Dowling was the only goal.  In the second the young devils took over and scored four straight before the Raiders would answer. Goals in the second came from Tripp Plumley(2), Jayden Stehlik and Evan VanEgmond.  Reid Haley picked up two assists in the period.  Heading into the third with a comfortable 5-1 lead the boys kept pushing hard and would manage three more goals to walk away with a convincing 8-1 win.  Scoring in the third was Wade Robinson, Greyson Rennie and Simpson.  Assists went to Dowling and Mackie.  Jordan Andrews stood tall in the pipes and Kolton Solmes took home player of the game for a sold, hard working game from start to finish.

Sunday the Breakaway boys headed to Markham to face the Waxers.  Just like on Saturday the first period was a tight checking affair with Simpson scoring the only goal with just one second left in the period on the power play.  Robinson picked up the helper.  The second period saw teams exchange goals with Plumley scoring from Haley.  The tight checking game continued into the third and the Waxers battled to the final buzzer but came up short and the Devils grabbed their second win of the weekend with a 5-2 final.  Scoring in the third was Ryder Bradford from Avery Thickson, Mackie unassisted and Simpson from Mackie and Dowling.  Deacon Vos stopped several shots to keep the Devils in the lead and Avery Thickson headed home with the Devils fork for player of the game.

On Deck:  The U11 Red Devils have their final weekend of league play before the holiday break when they host the Greater Kingston Junior Gaels on Saturday in Colborne and then head to Whitby on Sunday to face the Wildcats.
