The Breakaway Fuels U11 Red Devils headed to Ajax on Sunday for their lone game of the weekend to take on the pesky Raiders
The Devils played a consistent game against a hard working Ajax/Pickering squad scoring one goal in each period to grab a narrow 3-2 victory.
Reid Haley would score in both the first and second periods with assists to Charlie Dwyer, Jackson Simpson andKai Mackie.
The third period started with the Devils holding a 2-1 lead. Ethan Dowling from Haley and Mackie would extend the lead with just over seven minutes remaining. Less than a minute later the Raiders closed it to 3-2. Deacon Vos came up clutch one minute later stopping a penalty shot to preserve the lead and allow the devils to grind out a victory.
Player of the game was Reid Haley for a big three point game.
On Deck: The U11's have a busy week. They face the Greater Kingston Jr Gaels on Thursday night at RCAF arena at 7pm before they head to Caledon on Saturday for an exhibition double header against the Huron Perth Lakers. Sunday closes out their 4 games in 4 days with an afternoon game in Whitby against the Wildcats.
