October 19, 2025 vs. Ajax-Pickering Raiders
Sunday marked the first home game of the season for the BIHC U10 Quinte Red Devils, against the Ajax Pickering Raiders.
The Madoc barn was buzzing with energy as a sea of fans
filled the stands. QRD did not waste time giving the crowd something to cheer about — an early
“top cheese” snipe lit the lamp and set the tone.
The penalty kill was once again back in action for the second straight day, but the team handled
the pressure and found their second goal coming from sheer grit, muscling the puck in from the
side of the net to close out the first period with a 2–0 lead.
The second period was all heart and hustle. Thanks to solid teamwork, determination, and
steady goaltending, QRD held their ground and kept the scoreboard frozen at 2–0 heading into
the final period— much to the delight of their supportive home crowd.
An end-to-end game full of hustle ensued with QRD striking again soon into the third period with
a slick backhand finding its way into the back of the net. The Raiders answered back with a goal
of their own and ramped up the pressure late in the game, but QRD stood tall, stayed composed
and shut down the comeback attempt.
When the final buzzer sounded, QRD skated off with a hard-earned 3–1 victory, backed by grit
and teamwork.
