January 2 - 4 vs. Petes & Wildcats
The U10 BIHC Quinte Red Devils Shows Resilience in Busy Weekend of Action
Quinte opened the weekend on a high note with a strong 4–2 win over the Peterborough Pete's on Friday at the Healthy Planet Arena. After a scoreless first period and an impressive late penalty kill, Quinte broke the game open in the second with three quick goals, including a highlight-reel breakaway. Quinte added another in the third and stayed composed through a tense finish to secure the victory.
Saturday’s matchup against the very strong Whitby Wildcats in Marmora showcased Quinte's defensive grit. Quinte struck first and protected a 1–0 lead through two hard-fought periods, highlighted by a successful 5-on-3 penalty kill. Whitby pulled ahead in the third to take a 4–1 win, but Quinte’s compete level remained high throughout.
Quinte wrapped up the weekend Sunday at Madoc Arena with another meeting against Whitby. Quinte responded quickly to early adversity, generating offense and capitalizing on the power play, but Whitby took advantage of special-team's opportunities to claim the game 8-3.
Despite a 1–2 weekend, Quinte demonstrated strong teamwork, discipline, and resilience, building positives to carry forward into the next stretch of the season. A big thank you to all the wonderful supporters who came out the cheer on the boys this weekend!
