Busy Week for the U11 Quinte Red Devils
QRD took to the ice at the Invista Centre in Kingston, on Wednesday, October 29th, for their first regular season match-up against the Jr. Gaels. The Red Devils struck in the first period, with Nash White potting an unassisted goal. Blake Unger and Jaxson Withers found the back of the net in the 2nd, with Daniel Lalonde chipping in with an assist. The game would end 3-0, with the Devils picking up the win and Aiden Ferreira earning the shutout.

The Quinte Red Devils U11 team then headed to Toronto on the weekend to compete in The Shanahan tournament.

The tournament started with an offensive explosion early Friday afternoon against the North York Rangers, resulting in a dominant 9-2 victory. Walker Elrick led the charge with a hat trick, while Mason Cooke (2), Bentley May (2), and Blake Unger (2) also found the back of the net. The Devils' passing game was excellent, with helpers registered by Baily (3), Cooke (2), Valois (2), Fraser, Elrick, White, Cooney, and McCormick. The day closed with a defensive clinic, as Aiden Ferreira made several show-stopping saves against the Reps to secure a 0-0 shutout tie in The Devils second game.

Saturday morning brought another win, a 5-2 decision over the Mississauga Senators, fueled by goals from Cooke, Baily, Silverburg, and 2 from May. Charbonneau (2), White, Unger and Withers chipped in with assists. Game two proved a tougher test against the Mississauga Rebels. In a fast, high-octane battle, goaltender Ferreira was solid for the Devils. Goals from May and Valois kept Quinte in the fight, with Unger and Valois tallying the assists. Despite a relentless effort, the Devils ultimately fell just short, losing a tight 3-2 contest.

Sunday morning delivered a thrilling semi-final rematch against the Rebels, with Emerson Courtney standing tall in net. The game remained deadlocked and scoreless through the first two periods. The tension finally broke in the third when the Rebels managed to sneak a goal past Quinte. But the Red Devils refused to quit. Digging deep in the final minute, Walker Elrick scored the clutch equalizer (assisted by Mason Kolga) with a mere 30 seconds left on the clock, sending the game to overtime. In the high-stakes 3-on-3 OT, the dramatic battle continued until the Rebels found the back of the net in the final minute of the extra frame, securing the win and ending Quinte's run.

On Deck: The U11 Red Devils resume game play on Saturday, November 15th in Ajax.
