A Win and A Loss for the U11s
The U11 Quinte Red Devils experienced a weekend of high-stakes hockey, battling through a tough road loss before bouncing back to secure a gritty regular season-series victory.

On Saturday in Whitby, the Wildcats jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first period. Quinte’s lone goal came from Blake Unger, on a play assisted by Pearce McCormick and Mason Kolga. In the crease, Aiden Ferreira faced heavy pressure to keep the Red Devils within striking distance. Whitby added two more goals in the second period, but Quinte answered back with a goal from Nash White, assisted by Corbin Cooney and Blake Unger.The third period proved to be a defensive battle with no goals for either side, with the game ending in a 5-2 loss for the U11s. 

On Sunday, after York-Simcoe opened the scoring late in the first, Bentley May answered back for Quinte, with a goal assisted by Pearce McCormick. Mason Kolga notched a power-play goal to keep the Red Devils rolling in the second period, with the score 2-2 heading into the final frame. In a penalty filled third, Hudson Silverburg netted the decisive goal for Quinte, with the score 3-2 at the final buzzer. Goaltender Emerson Courtney held the line through the closing minutes to secure the win.

On Deck: The U11s cap off their regular season this week with a match-up against the Central Ontario Wolves on Wednesday, February 11th (7pm, Marmora) and North Shore Whitecaps on Sunday, February 15th (12:30, Marmora).
