Busy Week for the U11s
The U11 Quinte Red Devils saw 3 play-off games this week, facing the Kingston Jr. Gaels, North Shore Whitecaps and York Simcoe Express. The Devils went 2-1, seeing their play-off record stand at 3-2 heading into next weekend.

On Wednesday, the U11s secured a hard-fought 4-1 victory over the Kingston Jr. Gaels. The Red Devils jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first period. Daniel Lalonde opened the scoring off a pass from Mason Cooke, followed shortly by Pearce McCormick, who found the back of the net with help from Nash White and Felix Charbonneau. Kingston tightened the gap in the second, scoring the frame’s only goal to make it 2-1 heading into the final period. However, Austin Baily converted on a power play—assisted by Ryker Valois and Bentley May—to extend the lead. McCormick then sealed the win with his second goal of the night, assisted by Lucas Fraser and Blake Unger. Aiden Ferreira picked up the win in net.

On Friday night, The U11 Quinte Red Devils had a commanding 6-1 performance against the North Shore Whitecaps at the Delpark Homes Centre. Behind a solid outing from goaltender Emerson Courtney, the game remained a scoreless defensive battle until late in the opening frame. Walker Elrick finally broke the deadlock for the Red Devils, finding the back of the net with assists from Mason Cooke and Daniel Lalonde to take a 1-0 lead at the end of the first. The second period belonged to Quinte, with a power play goal by Austin Baily, assisted by Ryker Valois and Lucas Fraser. The Red Devils then netted two short-handed goals, with Blake Unger and Nash White striking, with Pearce McCormick and Austin Baily picking up the assists. Early in the third, Baily notched his second of the night, assisted by Lalonde and Cooney. With just one second remaining on the clock, Cooke added an exclamation point to the victory, bringing the final score to 6-1.

On Sunday, Quinte returned home to meet the York Simcoe Express in Marmora, with Aiden Ferreira in net. Quinte came out flying in the opening frame, controlling the pace and keeping the Express on their heels. Valois broke the ice to open the scoring, assisted by May. Just two minutes later, the Red Devils doubled their lead when Elrick found the back of the net, supported by helpers from White and Fraser. YSE began their push in the second period, netting the lone goal of the frame to cut Quinte’s lead to 2-1. The momentum fully shifted in the third, as the Express struck twice in quick succession to erase the deficit and take their first lead of the game. Despite a relentless push in the final minutes, the Red Devils were unable to find the equalizer.
