The Breakaway Fuels U12 Red Devils hosted the Markham Waxers on Saturday afternoon at the CAA arena for their home opener.
The boys started off early and scored often. Jayden Stehlik scored his first of three just 32 seconds in on a pass from Smith Pilon. The two would connect again before the end of the first to extend the lead to 2-0. The Devils would add two more in the second and three in the third and Deacon Vos would turn away all the Waxers shots to pick up the shutout in a 7-0 win for the home team. Additional scorers for the Devils were Evan VanEgmond, Kai Mackie, Jackson Simpson and Pilon. Picking up helpers were Reid Haley, Simpson and Mackie.
The boys spent the rest of the weekend enjoying some turkey and family time.
On Deck is a date with the Greater Kingston Jr Gaels on Friday night at 6:30 at the Invista Centre and then they host the York Simcoe Express in Campbellford on Sunday at 1pm.
