Breakaway Fuels U12's Lose in Semifinals in Buffalo
The Breakaway Fuels U12 Red Devils headed south of the border this weekend to compete in The AAA Cup Tournament in Buffalo.

The U12 families battled the elements on Thursday on their trip to Buffalo with a full day of snow just to add to the experience.
The boys started off with a tight 3-2 win Friday morning over the Lovell Winter Club and followed that up with a 5-1 win over the Grey Bruce Highlanders in an outdoor game on Friday night.  The outdoor game and the facility gave the kids a memory to last a lifetime.
On Saturday with the outdoor experience behind them the boys continued to shine posting scores of 6-3 over the Jersey Hitmen and 5-0 over the Amherst Knights.  The 4-0 record earned the team a bye straight to the semis on Sunday.
The semifinal match up would see them face off against the Elgin Middlesex Canucks.  Unfortunately Elgin would score first early in the game on a power play goal.  The first period would end 1-0.  The second period was all Quinte and they finally found the back of the net with just over 2 minutes remaining in the period.  That set the stage for an exciting third and despite Quinte owning the lead in shots during the game 26-15 the Canucks would score once in the third and then hold on and turn away several chances with the goalie out and ultimately prevail 2-1.
