The Breakaway Fuels U12 Red Devils won both their playoff games this week to move to 3-1 in the playoffs and they did so without surrendering a goal.
The week started with a game Thursday night in Kingston against the Junior Gaels. This was a much anticipated game as the final regular season game saw the teams battle to a 3-3 tie. This time it once again was a tight first period ending 0-0 and saw Quinte kill off a long 5 on 3 penalty kill. Once back to even strength in the second the Devils took over scoring three quick goals forcing the Gaels to take their time out to try and slow the onslaught. Following the time out the Devils continued to press but could not put any more by the Kingston goalie until the third period when they bulged the twine twice more and headed home with a big 5-0 win.
After a light practice day on Saturday the young Devils hosted the North Central Predators on Sunday in Campbellford. Unlike Thursdays game the Breakaway Boys hit the ice flying in this one and found the back of the net 4 times in the first period. The ice remained tilted for the next two frames with the Devils scoring two more in the second and another in the third to win 7-0 in front of the home crowd.
On Deck: The Devils have a single game next weekend at home against the Markham Waxers at 545 on Saturday on the Mackay Pad.
