Resilient Madison Excavating U14 Red Devils Rebound with Shutout
After a tough home loss to the Ajax-Pickering Raiders, the Madison Excavating U14 Quinte Red Devils bounced back with a disciplined road shutout over the North Shore Whitecaps, showcasing strong play in all areas.

Saturday, December 13th, vs. Ajax-Pickering Raiders

On Saturday afternoon, on home ice, the U14 Madison Excavating Quinte Red Devils battled the Ajax-Pickering Raiders in a fast-paced matchup that swung late in favour of the Raiders. The Devils struck early, just over a minute into the opening frame, when Eli Kelly-Clarke buried the game’s first goal off feeds from Colby Banks and Kaiden Sprackett. Ajax-Pickering answered back with two quick goals before the buzzer to take a 2-1 edge after one. The second period was a tight-checking affair, with both teams trading chances but no pucks finding the back of the net. In the third, the Raiders pulled away, cashing in on a shorthanded marker and adding three more to seal the win. Goaltenders Ben Larmer and Hayden Tripp battled hard, making key saves to keep QRD competitive despite the final score.

Sunday, December 14th, @ North Shore Whitecaps

On Sunday afternoon, the Madison Excavating U14 Quinte Red Devils turned in a full team effort as they squared off against the North Shore Whitecaps in Bowmanville. Quinte opened the scoring in the first period when Antonio Auciello capitalized on the power play, going end-to-end and snapping home an unassisted marker to set the tone early. In the second, Auciello struck again, finishing a well-executed play with helpers from Kadyn Bowden and Cooper Plumley to give the Devils some breathing room. North Shore pushed back in the third, but Quinte stayed structured and limited the quality chances against. With the Whitecaps pressing late, Eli Kelly-Clarke iced the game with an empty-netter to seal the win. Between the pipes, Hayden Tripp was rock solid, earning a well-deserved shutout.

On Deck: Wednesday, December 17th at 8:00 pm vs. Greater Kingston Jr. Gaels (RCAF Flyers Arena), followed by a game on Saturday, December 20th at 2:00 pm vs. Whitby Wildcats (Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre - Mackay Insurance Pad), and a third game on Sunday, December 21st at 3:00 pm @ Ajax-Pickering Raiders (Pickering Recreation Complex - Delaney).
