U16 Red Devils - Week of October 27
The U16 HockeyStickMan Red Devils were on the road for a pair of contests this weekend finishing off the last of the Northern road trips for the regular season.

Saturday brought the second of two trips to Rama to take on the North Central Predators. A choppy affair saw a scoreless first frame before Austin Ottenhof capitalized on a Predators turnover going bar down for a 1-0 lead in the second period. The third period saw more offence from Quinte with Andrew Laurin forcing another Predators turnover and took the puck ¾ of the length of the ice for a short handed marker. Yet another Predators turnover would bounce off Laurin and onto Lauchlan Whelan's stick and he would round out the scoring making the final 3-0 in a scoreline that did not really reflect the game play.

Enjoying an extra hour of sleep allowed the team to prepare for a road trip to take on another top 5 squad in the form of the Barrie Colts. The game did not disappoint producing a back and forth affair. After a scoreless first period, Lauchlan Whelan got the Devils on the scoresheet first finishing off a feed from Austin Preston. That score would stand heading into the break, but Barrie would answer back early in the 3rd to tie the game. Off a defensive zone faceoff, Andrew Dewar banked a puck high off the glass and Whelan picked it up through the neutral zone before finding Coen Lowry with a cross-crease feed to put the Devils back in front. The Colts found another equalizer to tie the game up again before Whelan buried the game winner with help from Andrew Laurin and Colton Dee. A tense final 12 minutes would see no more scoring as Quinte locked down their own end to ensure the weekend sweep.

This week sees the first visit of the year from the Ajax-Pickering Raiders and Sunday sees a road trip to Clarington to take on the North Shore Whitecaps. Saturday's game action gets underway at 2pm on the Mackay pad at the Wellness Centre and Sunday's puck drop is at 3pm on the Toyota pad at the Garnet B. Rickard Complex. Both games are available for streaming on the Poskin Sport Network on YouTube.
