U16 Red Devils - Week of November 3
The HockeyStickMan U16 Red Devils had a pair of games this weekend as the regular season carried on.

Saturday saw hosting duties in a battle of the last two undefeated teams in league play as the Ajax-Pickering Raiders came to town. A fast paced first period saw QRD take a 1-0 lead off the stick of Lauchlan Whelan with help from Coen Lowry and Andrew Laurin. Quinte's relentless pressure allowed them to slowly take over the game as the second period wore on. Lawson Minifie buried the second goal of the game for the Devils with Austin Preston and Ewan Dahle providing assists on the play, and Trent Clow fired home the eventual game winner on the power play after some nice passing with Minifie and Colton Dee. The third period would start off with the Raiders getting one back, but Preston would restore the 3-goal lead with Dahle and Minifie picking up assists on the play. Ajax would get on the sheet one more time before Dahle iced the game into an empty net after a feed out of the corner from Minifie sealing a 5-2 win. Nathan Ferriss was solid in goal for the Devils.

Sunday saw the Devils brave the weather, heading down the 401 for their first meeting of the year with the North Shore Whitecaps. The offence was clicking on all cylinders with the squad jumping out to a 3-0 lead after the first period. Lauchlan Whelan, Lawson Minifie and Andrew Laurin found the back of the net with assists going to Ewan Dahle, Andrew Dewar, Austin Ottenhof and Whelan. The second frame was more of the same with another three markers coming from Coen Lowry, Trent Clow and Ottenhof with Jax Martin and Ottenhof picking up helpers resulting in a 6-0 lead at the break. The Whitecaps got one back at the start of the third before Minifie and Dahle added 2 more tallies with Kallum Phillips and Whelan adding to their point totals making the final 8-1. Landen White picked up the win in net.

The upcoming week sees home and home contests with the Central Ontario Wolves. The top 5 matchups get underway in Scugog on Saturday at 5:15 pm with the return trip getting started at 1:30 on the CAA Pad at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre. Both games will be available for streaming on the Poskin Sport Network on YouTube.
