The HockeyStickMan U16 Red Devils travelled to Peterborough on Saturday to complete their season series with the Jr Petes.
Andrew Laurin got the ball rolling with 2 goals in his first 2 shifts. Goal one was a nice tip of an Andrew Dewar shot with Cooper Poskin chipping in a helper as well. Goal two came off the rebound of a Jax Martin blast. Peterborough would get one back on the power play in the second to make the score 2-1 for the good guys heading into the third. The final frame was all Quinte as the gang poured in 5 goals. Martin was first up completing the toe of Laurin and Dewar's tic and tac. Ewan Dahle chipped in a nice snipe as well, burying a Lawson Minifie rebound. Trent Clow was next up finishing off a Coen Lowry pass and Colton Dee found the back of the net with a seeing eye shot. Lowry and Jack Sutton picked up helpers on that play. Lauchlan Whelan completed the scoring barrage with Sutton and Laurin grabbing assists to complete a 7-2 victory. Nathan Ferriss was solid in goal helping Quinte pick up a much needed two points in the race to the playoffs.
Mother Nature was the only winner on Sunday as the road game at Ajax, along with every other game, was cancelled in anticipation of the weather. A re-scheduled date was not available at press time.
This week sees another 2 road games as the squad travels to Kingston on Friday night and Scugog on Saturday. Friday night's action gets underway at 6:30 on the Kinsmen pad of the Cataraqui Arena. Saturday's puck drop is on pad 2 at Scugog at 5:15pm. Friday's game is available on LiveBarn for those that subscribe and both games will be live on the Poskin Sports Netwrok on YouTube.
