96 Prospects from across Ontario invited to 3 day event at the General Motors Centre
Three members of the the Quinte Red devils organization attended the 2016 OHL Combine in Oshawa this weekend, 2 as prospects, and one as a coach/trainer to conduct the fitness testing on the athletes. Forward Nate Dunkley and goaltender Pierce Nelson were 2 of the 96 prospects selected to attend the 3 day combine, and Jackie Jarrell is part of the team of strength and conditioning coaches who conduct a battery of physical test on the athletes. The results are used by OHL coaches, scouts, and general managers to assist them in making their selections in the upcoming OHL Priority Selection on Saturday April 9.
Nate Dunkley was in the top 5 of all forwards in the off-ice portion of the testing. Jackie reported that there were a lot of great athletes attending the combine. She also mentioned, "I also had some very positive talks with several OHL General Managers and Scouts about the Quinte Red Devil Organization."
She also shared this with us from her Facebook page. Great afternoon spent testing athletes at the OHL Combine Powered by Under Armour. Great to see some familiar faces including Quinte Red Devil goalie and Gold Performance Training athlete Pierce Nelson who is preparing for upcoming draft! Thank you to @ohl_hockey and Under Armour for a great afternoon and inviting me to be one of the Strength Coaches. Great to meet so many quality Strength Coaches and talk with OHL General Managers and Scouts about the up and coming outstanding players in the Quinte Red Devil system! Proud to be apart of such a first-class organization.
