Weekly Report - Week 9 ...

Rhino Sports and Playland - Minor Midget
The Red Devil Minor Midgets travelled to Port Perry to play the Central Ontario Wolves on Saturday night. Brennan Bush was in net and was once again solid as he back stopped his team to a victory. Brennan would stop all of the 18 shots he faced on route to earning his third shutout in 9 regular season games thus far.

Another strong defensive effort left the Central Ontario Wolves with an average of 6 shots per period and when you break it down it’s an average of a shot every 3 minutes. Team defence is critical in the playoffs and now is a great time to start the process as the team has displayed over the last few weeks. Once again Nolan Seto, Graham Dickerson and Matt Cawker along with the defensive group of Derrick Vos, Cameron Supryka, Carden Guerin, Zach Uens and Conner Kennedy showed what it takes shift in and shift out in order to get the job done job done and the other lines and teams will take notice as they take control of games.

The Devils would score within the first two minutes of the game as Michael Andrews put one past the Central goalie on a passing play with Daniel Panetta and Dalton Bancroft. Midway through the second period Michael Andrews would make it 2-0 off of a shot by Cameron Supryka who was set up for the one timer by Zach Uens. Jake Campbell would find the back of the net on a nice passing play between Emmet Pierce and Logan White and just 25 seconds later it would Emmet Pierce set up by Jake Campbell and Connor Kennedy and the route was on.

Daniel Panetta would make it 5-0 on a pass from Michael Andrews who was fed the puck by Derrick Vos just before time would expire in the second period. In the third the Red Devils attack continued as the Devils scored just over a minute into the third as Michael Andrews was set up by Graham Dickerson who paid the price to make the unselfish play over to Dalton Bancroft for an easy tap in. Forty seconds later Nolan Seto controlled the boards and the corner fending off the Central Ontario defensive pair and then Graham Dickerson was at it again as he feed a diving Matt Cawker who tipped in a surprised net minder. Emmet Pierce would block a shot on the penalty kill which sprung himself on a break-away and he buried it past the goalie to get his second of the night.
