Madison Excavating - Minor Peewee
The Madison Excavating Minor Peewees played 2 games this week to begin the new year and secured 4 points in regular season play.
The Devils travelled to Oshawa for a midweek match up as they faced off against the Generals. Quinte wasted no time scoring twice in the first to take a 2-0 lead.
Scoring in the first were Liam Philip, from Beckett Ewart and Gage Butcher from Ben Danford and Ty Therrien. Brody Partridge and Therrien added 2 more in the second
to make it 4-0 going into the third. Assisting in the second were Landon Wright, Braedyn Rogers and Danford. Butcher would add one more in the third on the set up from
Ewart to secure the 5-0 victory. Mike McIvor stood strong between the pipes to record the shut out.
Saturday would see the Devils play host to the York-Simcoe Express at the Cobourg CC. Once again the Devils were quick out of the gates in the first and took a dominant 4-0 lead.
Opening up the scoring for Quinte was Jared Langdon and the pass from Ewart and Philip. Also scoring were Thomas Kuipers and Ewart(2), assisted by Carson Campbell, Ben
Vreugdenhil, Danford, Rogers and Langdon. YSE would sneak a couple past the Quinte net minder but Therrien would go in unassisted to make it 5-2 in the second. Rogers added one
more in the third, assisted by Kuipers to seal the 6-2 win. Dean Spry was solid in net.
On Deck: The Madison Excavating Minor Peewees will travel to Buffalo to participate in The Cup Tournament this upcoming weekend.
Game Ready Hockey Development - Bantam
The Game Ready Development Bantams played their last league game of 2017 against the Peterborough Petes where the Devils would skate 9-0 victory. Goals by Zack Brooks (3), Clayton Farrow (2), Daniel Michaud (2), Jett Butler, and Ben White. Assisting was Alex Case, Jett Butler, Daniel Michaud (2), Zack Brooks (2), Gavin Camp, Connor Brooks, Blake Maracle. Ethan Fraser was in net for the win.
The Game Ready Development Bantams participated in the Toronto Marlies Holiday Classic Tournament where they finished with a 2-1-1 record. The first game against the Mississauga Senators ended with a score of 2-2. Goals scored by Jett Butler and Nathanial Burelle. Assists came from Daniel Michaud (2), Ben White, and Luke LaPalm. Dixon Grimes was in net.
The Devil's would lose their second game 2-0 to Nickel City. Ethan Fraser in net. In the third game the Devil's beat the Brampton 45's 2-1. Alex Case and Luke LaPalm scored with assists from Ben White (2), Nathanial Burelle,and Daniel Michaud. Dixon Grimes in net.
In the final game of the Devil's skated to a 2-1 victory against the Kitchener Jr Rangers. Goals were scored by Luke LaPalm and Aiden Treverton. Assists came from Connor Brooks, Ethan Broek, and Clayton Farrow. Ethan Fraser in net. The Devils did not advance past round robin play.
Bonn Law - Peewee
After a very strong showing at The Golden Horseshoe hockey tournament during the Christmas break, The Bonn Law Quinte Red Devils Major Peewee Team continues their strong team play in league, winning both games this week.
The Devils started off the New Year on the road, when there faced off against the Clarington Toros for the first time this season. The Devils played a solid game from start to finish, skating to a 6-2 win. Lighting the lamp for the Devils was Ethan Miedema (2), Jack Dever, Aidan Haller-Brady, Keenan Wiles and Michael Dolton. Chipping in with assists on the goals was Jack Lowry (3), Haller-Brady (2), Dever, Miedema, Ethan Quick, Christopher Brydges, Sidney Wakely and Duncan Schneider. Brayden Friedrich was very solid between the pipes to earn the win. On Sunday the Red Devils were home to the Kingston Frontenacs. The Devils put together another very solid team game on their way to a 6-3 win. Jack Dever and Ethan Quick both scored a pair of goals in the game, while Christopher Brydges and Ethan Miedema each added singles. Assists in the game went to Ben Smith, Nick Oke, Will Haley and Duncan Schneider. Aidan Crowley looked sharp in net for his team to earn the win.
On deck: The Red Devils host the Central Ontario Wolves on Saturday at 2:15 pm in Belleville, in their "Pink in The Rink Game" to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer. Come on out and show your support!
Rhino Sports and Play – Novice
First regular season game after the Christmas holidays the Rhino Sports and Play Quinte Novice Red Devils hit the road with a game against the Peterborough Pete’s that ended in a 4-4 tie.
With one goal scored by Paxton Erskine assisted by Jake Gawley and a 1-1 tie ending the first period the Devils held their own against the Pete’s. The Pete’s pulled ahead with an additional 3 goals in the second period, but the Red Devils came back to tie the game in the third with goals from Chase Cybulski, and two from Brayden Davidson with assists from Cameron Shaw, Seth Scaletta, Keegan Goulah, and Jonas McCoy. Daniel Yeo handled the goaltending duties.
Saturday January the 7th an at home game against the Clarington Toros ends in a 4-1 loss for the devils. With the only goal scored late in the 3rd period by Davidson and assisted by Gawley.
On Deck: Next regular season game scheduled away January 13th against the Oshawa Generals.
Pita Pit - Atom
It was a big weekend for the Pita Pit Atom team as they picked up 6 points.
On Friday the Pita Pit boys travelled to Peterborough and faced a determined Petes team. The Petes came out fast and fierce in the first period and scored a quick goal in the start of the first period. This was the much needed wake up the Pita Pit boys needed after a long holiday break. They battled back to a 3-2 win. Goals scored by Carter Chadwick assisted by Owen Ferguson and Samuel Thompson; Deke Osterhout assisted by Avery Wease and Rylan McCormack; and Wease assisted by Osterhout and Mason Musclow. Liam Boyer was in net for the win.
The Pita Pit Atom team then enjoyed 2 home games, the first on Saturday in Madoc vs the Richmond Hill Coyotes. The team had 2 very strong periods making the game 4-2 by the end of the second. The Coyotes battled hard in the 3rd but the Pita Pit boys weren't giving in and ended the game with a 4-5 win.

The Pita Pit boys finished the weekend with a solid win over the Whitby Wildcats on their home ice in Deseronto. The team dominated the game giving the Wildcats little time or space. With a solid effort from all team members the Pita Pit boys scored 7 goals in a 7-2 win over their Whitby rivals to clench 2nd spot in the east. Goals scored by Erwin assisted by Asimis and Sage; Sage assisted by Asimis and Erwin; Wease assisted by McCormack and Osterhout; McCormack; Asimis assisted by Erwin and Sage; Osterhout assisted by Wease and Thompson; McCormack assisted by Osterhout. Liam Boyer was strong in net for the win.
