Update on 2020 Season (Aug 22, 2020)
Here is an update on where we are the 2020 hockey season...

Hello Hockey Families -
We are now able to provide more details about the upcoming hockey season, based on information from the Ontario Hockey Federation, Hockey Canada, Ontario Minor Hockey Association, the Hastings and Prince Edward Counties Health Unit, and the City of Belleville’s recreation department.

The first thing that needs to  be clarified is that until we get to Stage 4, all players must play with the team / organization that they were rostered with during the 2019-2020 season. (We are currently in the early part of stage 3.) This means that if a player played AA rep hockey in Belleville, or Cobourg, they must play in their home centre for the remainder of stage 3. Players who were rostered with Quinte AAA, (even if they were from outside of our zone) will have 2 choices on where to play. They can stay as part of the Quinte AAA association or go back to their home centre. This ruling is from Hockey Canada, and OHF and must be followed by all associations.

We should also remind everyone that under Hockey Canada, OHF and Ontario Minor Hockey Association rules, anyone who chooses to register with an unsanctioned league AFTER September 30th, 2020 will NOT be permitted to return to any Hockey Canada sanctioned activities for the duration of the 2020-2021 season. This would include rep and AAA hockey.

As a starting point during Stage 3, QRD will be offering a skill development program using independent skills instructors. How this rolls out, and when it will begin will depend on ice availability. We are hopeful to have 2 one hour sessions per week per team to start, and increase from there as ice becomes available.

Tryouts cannot happen until we reach stage 4. When we reach this point, another email will be sent to everyone who has registered, in order to communicate schedules and other details. It is our hope that you will not have to register again.

Thank you for your patience. If you would like more details, you can read the OHF Return to Hockey Framework at www.ohf.on.ca. It is also posted on our website.
