Bonn Law Major Atom Team get two wins and a loss this week in League play
The Bonn Law Quinte Red Devils Major Atom team earned two
more wins in their three league games this week. On Wednesday the Devils hosted
the Peterborough Petes in Marmora, where they put together a solid team game,
while skating to a 5-0 win. Scoring for the home team was Cal Uens (2), Spencer
Cranley (2) and Joey Coates. Adding helpers on the goals was Uens (2), Cranley
(2), Ethan Quick (2), Duncan Schneider (2), Christopher Brydges and Ben Lynch.
Tucker McKichan was solid in net to earn his second straight shutout.
On Saturday, the Devils hit the road on their annual
Northern road tour, with the first stop in Innisfil to take on the first place
Barrie Colts. It was a scoreless first period, where both teams skated hard and
exchanged chances, and Jacob Brown was on top of his game. The Devils were
handed 4 straight penalties in the second period, one of which gave the Colts a
2 man advantage. The Colts capitalized, scoring 2 power play goals. Although
the Devils worked extremely hard, they found themselves down two men again
early in the third, when they were handed their 6th consecutive
penalty of the game. The Colts scored on the two man advantage, adding their
third power play goal of the game. Jacob Brown was terrific in net in the 3-0
loss.
On Sunday, the Devils were in Orillia to face
the North Central Predators. Spencer Cranley opened the scoring for the Devils
in the first period and the preds added one of their own before the end of the
period. The Devils found their stride early in the second period, and scored 6
unanswered goals in the final two periods of the game. Cal Uens was firing on
all cylinders, finding the back of the net 4 times. Vince Bellavance and Ethan Quick also
scored a goal in the game. Adding helpers on the goals in the 7-1 win was Ethan
Quick (2), Joey Coates (2), Spencer Cranley (2), Uens, Ben Lynch, Duncan Schneider,
Ben Danford and Jack Dever. Tucker McKichan was solid in net to earn the win.
