The Foley Bus Lines Peewee Red Devils played three games
this past week in ETA action. They
entered the week with an unbeaten record of 18-0-5. The Devils managed one win in the three games
yet remain atop the Eastern Conference despite the losses.
On Tuesday Dec 6, the Devils took on the Peterborough Petes at the Madoc Community Rec Centre. The Devils dominated in this match, coming out with a 5 to 1 win. Scoring for the Devils were; Trevor Hoskin, Connor Hunt with a pair, Rheydan McCoy, and Cooper Matthews. Providing the helpers for the Devils goals were; Parker Stewart, Arron Brown, Rheydan McCoy, Sami Douglas-Najem, Isaac Brown and Liam Filip. Corbin Votary was sharp in the Devils Cage.
On Saturday Dec 10, the Bus Liners hosted the Whitby Wildcats at the QSWC. The Devils were quick to gain the lead as Trevor Hoskin, Connor Hunt and Kendrick Webster lit the lamp in the first period to take a 3 to 1 lead going into the 2nd frame. Assisting on the first period goals were; Liam Filip, Owen Gibson, and Kendrick Webster. Whitby struck back in the 2nd period with 3 more goals and the Devils responded with one as Dalyn Wakely scored on feeds from Cooper Matthews and Rheydan McCoy. The score was 4 to 4 in going into the 3rd period. Whitby would take the lead, but the Devils tied the game again on a goal from Liam Flip, assisted by Cooper Matthews and Connor Hunt. Whitby would finally score the winning goal on a goal mouth scramble late in the third period to take the game by a final score of 6 to 5. Andrew Munro started the game in the Devils cage and Corbin Votary would finish the game as they shared the loss in the Devils net.
On Sunday Dec 11, the Foley Bus Liners hosted the Western Division leading Ajax Pickering Raiders at the Madoc Rec Centre. The Devils opened the scoring with a nice lead pass from Dalyn Wakely to Cooper Matthews to take a 1 to 0 lead after the first period. In end to end action, each team would skate to a scoreless 2nd period. The Devils found themselves in penalty trouble in the third period as the Raiders scored twice and would eventually win the game by a score of 2 to 1. Corbin Votary make some key saves in the game to keep the game close in the Devils cage.
Next action for the Peewee Red Devils is Dec 16 as the Devils seek revenge against the Whitby Wildcats at 7pm in Whitby.
