On Jan 8, the Foley Bus Lines Peewee Red Devils hosted the
Clarington Toros at the Madoc Community Centre after a long Christmas Break. The
Devils would come out on top in a very physical and fast game by a score of 2
to 1.
Trevor Hoskin opened the scoring in the first period on a breakaway goal on passes from Donovan McCoy and Rheydan McCoy. Donovan McCoy would add another goal on a slap shot from the point from Connor Hunt as he won a face off in the Toros end. The Devils has a two-goal lead going into the 2nd period when the Toros got on the board to pull within one. The Toros had a chance to even the game with minutes left in the 2nd as they were awarded a penalty shot, but Devils goalie Corbin Votary made the stop to keep the Devils lead going into the third. Both teams battled through a scoreless third as the Devils hung on to win the game by a score of 2 to 1. Corbin Votary had a strong performance in the Devils cage.
