Submitted By Amy Miedema on Monday, January 21, 2019
The Bonn Law Minor Bantams recorded two wins and a loss this week in their regular season play, continuing to lead the East.

They travelled west to face the Oshawa Generals Tuesday and were handed a 4-1 loss with 2 empty net goals recorded by a very physical Generals squad. The lone QRD goal was netted by Jack Dever late in the game with assist to Sid Wakely. Aidan Crowley was in net for QRD.

The boys held their second annual Pink in the Rink event at home on Saturday where they hosted the Central Ontario Wolves. Not only did they raise a tremendous amount of money to fight against breast cancer but they also recorded a convincing 7-0 win.Liam Murphy recorded the shutout. Scoring came from Spencer Cranley (2), Aiden Haller Brady (2), Tyson Carr, Ethan Quick and Cal Uens with helpers to Cranley (3), Haller Brady (2), Uens, Carr and Ben Davy (2).  A Big thank you to all those that donated and/or contributed in any way to the success of the day!  Stay tuned later this week for the official word on the total amount raised by the Minor Bantams!

Another 2 points were gained Sunday evening at RCAF when the boys faced off against the Peterborough Petes. Aidan Crowey was in net for the win. After going down 2-0, the boys battled back to secure the 4-2 win. Justin Murdoch put QRD on the scoreboard just into the second period and then netted his second of the night four minutes later to tie up the game. Assists to Michael Dolton (2), Christopher Brown and Joshua Cunningham. The go-ahead goal came with seconds left in the second period on a pass from Ethan Miedema to Jack Dever who found the back of the Petes net. Cal Uens then put home an empty netter with under a minute left in the third.

The boys travel to Mississauga this weekend to participate in the Superseries Border Battle, a showcase which will have them play 5 games against American talent.
