Weekly report Jan 21- 27
The Bonn Law Minor Bantams competed in the Mississauga border battle showcase this past weekend and posted a 4-1 record.
The boys got off to slow start against the Syracuse Nationals dropping a 3-2 loss in their opening game. QRD goals were scored by Ethan Miedema and Cal Uens with assists from Ethan Quick and Michael Dolton. Liam Murphy was in net.
The boys rebounded against the Madison Capitals in what turned out to be a very physical game. Aidan Crowley was the starting goaltender and is credited with the 6-2 win. Scoring came from Miedema (2), Tyson Carr, Spencer Cranley (2) and Christopher Brydges. Helpers given to Quick (2).
Saturday proved to be the boys’ best day with wins against the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite (2-1) and Detroit Little Cesars (2-1). Both games saw the boys battle hard both offensively and defensively. Goaltending duties were handled by both Murphy and Crowley. Scoring from Saturday’s games came from Jack Dever, Carr, Miedema and Uens with assists to Miedema (3) and Brydges.
The last game of the weekend was against the Pittsburgh predators where QRD came out with their final win. Murphy was in net for the 5-1 victory and scoring came from Cranley, Dever, Uens, Christopher Brown and Dolton. Helpers credited to Aiden Haller Brady (2), Brydges and Davy.
Regular season action resumes this week with games against Central Ontario Wolves and the Oshawa Generals.
