Drew Doughty Ronald McDonald House AAA Invitational
On Friday September 21st, the Quinte Minor Atom team traveled to London to participate in the Drew Doughty Ronald McDonald House AAA Invitational Tournament.
Quinte took on the Pittsburgh Jr. Penguins for their first game, losing 4-2. Next up was the Brampton 45s. Quinte played well and controlled most of the game which resulted in a 5-2 win over Brampton.
Saturday started with a tough 9-0 loss to the Atlanta Kings. The team bounced back for their second game of the day when they took on the London Jr. Knights. It was a scoreless game after the first period, but Quinte came out to score a goal in the second, followed by two more in the third period to give the Devils a 3-2 win over London. Quinte was able to move onto the quarterfinals where they took on the Long Island Gulls. It was a hard fought game but Quinte lost 8-2 to the Gulls, who later went on to win the tournament championship.
Tournament goals were scored by: Grayson Hunt (2), Brody Harrison, Nate Rashotte (2), Jonas McCoy, Brayden Davidson, Pierson Clute and Maclean Chisholm (4). Assists: Brayden Davidson , Maclean Chisholm (4), Jonas McCoy , Ryan Foley (2), Grayson Hunt, Jake Gawley, Keegan Goulah and Blake Munnings. Goaltenders Charlie Vos and Daniel Yeo helped led the boys to a successful first tournament of the season!
