Saturday, the Predators, took an early lead. However the U14s weren’t long responding, Airhart feeding the puck to L. Campbell who scored the Devils first of the weekend. Soon after, Tavin MacDonald (L. Campbell) took a shot from the point, to make it 2-1. A power play goal by Moore (L. Campbell) sent the Devils into the 3rd period with a 3-1 lead. Early in the 3rd the home team closed the gap to only one. Although one quick Airhart to MacDonald set up was nicely redirected by J. Campbell, shifting the momentum once again. Quinte’s final goal by Lemieux, secured the 5-2 victory for goaltender Katste Brant and the U14s.
On Sunday versus the Barrie Jr. Colts, saw a high-scoring and physical game between these rivals. With Barrie having taken a quick lead, the U14s fought back one by one. Foley (Noah Lesser) scored the U14s lone goal of the first period as they headed into the second with a 4-1 deficit. The battle continuing, the U14s tied things up in the middle frame with goals by: L. Campbell (J. Campbell and Walst), Moore (Dubé and Lesser) and Foley (unassisted). Walst (Airhart), notched the U14s last goal of the game. Goaltender Katste Brant and the U14s took in their first loss (8-5 with an empty net) during league-play.
