The Bonn Law QRD U13 Team are Canadiens Cup Finalists!
The Bonn Law QRD U13 Team went 6-1 and brought home a silver medal, after a fantastic weekend at The Canadiens Cup Tournament in Toronto.

The Red Devils opened up the weekend on Friday morning vs The Oakville Rangers. The two teams are known for action packed, tight checking hockey, and this one was more of the same. After a scoreless first period, Tyler Martin got his team on the board, assisted by Shea Teather. The teams battled hard and exchanged goals in the third period. Noah Hughes scored the game winner, in the 2-1 game, assisted by Mason Whalen and Rowyn Haley. Matt Travers was sharp in net to earn the win, and was named player of the game. 


In their second game of the day, the Devils would face the #2 ranked team in Ontario, The high powered Vaughan Kings. The Devils found themselves trailing 1-0 in the first minute of the game, before scoring two goals of their own before the end of the period. The Kings would score the only goal in the second period, and the teams headed to the third tied 2-2. Fisher Kernohan scored the game winner, early in the third period, assisted by Holden Goulah and Thomas Marsden. Dax Sage shut the door on The Kings offense, making several key saves to earn the 3-2 win and player of the game. Also lighting the lamp in the game; Kyler Patterson and Tyler Martin. Assisting on the goals; James Gullage and Fisher Kernohan.


On Saturday morning, The Red Devils would face the New Jersey Titans. The Devils outshot the Titans 31-19 in the Game, and Dax Sage was sharp between the pipes, once again, on their way to a 6-1 win. Mason Whalen led the way with two goals and an assist in the game. Also scoring in this one; Edmund Dowling, Noah Hughes, Oliver McCulloch, Fisher Kernohan. Chipping in with helpers on the goals; Austin Pettey (3), James Gullage (2), Rowyn Haley and Miller Nicholson. Mason Whalen was named player of the game.


In their final game of the round robin, The Devils would face the hard working North York Rangers. The boys matched their opponents' hard work, and skated to a 5-2 win in the game. Austin Pettey led the way in this one, with two goals and an assist. Other goal scorers were Shea Teather, Fisher Kernohan and Mason Whalen. Assists; Nicholson (3), Martin, Goulah, Dowling, Hughes, McCulloch, Brody Grant. Matt Travers was solid in net for the win. Cameron Stevens was named player of the game. 


The Red Devils would face The California Gold Rush on Sunday morning, in the quarter finals. After a scoreless first period, the Devils found themselves giving up three straight goals in the second period. Thomas Marsden got his team on the board, with a blast from the point, to start the comeback for the Devils, in the third period. Nicholson and Hughes each found the back of the net, to tie the game, before Nicholson buried the game winner with just 25 seconds left in the game. Assisting on the goals in the 4-3 win; Whalen (2), Nicholson, Patterson. Miller Nicholson was named player of the game.


In the semi final game, The Devils would face The talented Toronto Marlboros. Both teams brought the offense in this one, and Matt Travers stole the show, making several highlight reel saves on the way to a 7-5 win. Lighting the lamp in this one; Hughes, Pettey, Whalen, Teather, Stevens, Goulah, Grant. Picking up assists in the win; Teather (2), Hughes, Haley, Goulah, Stevens, Pettey. Travers picked up player of the game honors in the game.


In their 7th game of the weekend, The Red Devils would face the #1 ranked team in the USA, The Mid-fairfield Jr. Rangers. The Devils fell behind 3-0 in the first period, and weren’t able to find the back of the net in the game, despite outshooting the Rangers in the game. The Rangers added another goal in the third, and although the Devils battled hard, they lost the game 4-0.

Austin Pettey was named player of the game.
