QRD Weekly Report – Monday January 22, 2018

Pita Pit – Minor Atom

It was another busy week for the PitaPit boys with an unfortunate midweek faceup against the Kingston Jr Frontenacs. Although they battled hard it ended in a very close 4-3 loss. Quinte goals scored by Kaiden Harmon (2), assisted by Carter Chadwick(2), Mason Musclow, and Jake Sage, Avery Wease assisted by Rylan McCormack and Harmon. Liam Boyer was in net.

After a long drive on Saturday to Richmond Hill, the PitaPit boys had a slow start and found themselves in a 3-1 deficit early on in the game. Mason Musclow started the Quinte scoring streak unassisted. The score was evened late in the 2nd period with 2 quick goals from Deke Osterhout and Evan Erwin assisted by Alek Asimis(2) and Osterhout. The Pita Pit boys finished strong in the third with 2 more goals to put the game away in a 5-3 win. Goals from Harmon and Wease assisted by Ethan Lord, Harmon and McCormack. Lennox Stewart was solid in the win.

Sunday the PitaPit boys were back on their home ice in Deseronto to face the 1st place team in the east, the Clarington Toros. It proved to be a nail-biter with a 1-1 score well into the 3rd period. This first goal scored by Chadwick assisted by Harmon. Musclow scored the go-ahead goal in the third followed by an empty net goal from Wease. Quinte pulled off a 3-2 win with a solid effort in net y Liam Boyer.

On Deck: The PitaPit Atom team has a home and home challenge against the Whitby Wildcats on Tues Jan 23rd in Whitby and back home in Deseronto Sat Jan 27th, game time 2:00 pm.


Game Ready Hockey Development - Bantam
The Game Ready Hockey Development Bantams played two games this week.On January 18, 2018 the Bantam's hosted the Kingston Frontenac's.  The team would skate to a 4-3 loss.  Goals for Quinte scored by Aiden Treverton, Daniel Michaud and Ben White.  Assists from  Ethan Broek, Hunter Hall, Nathanial Burelle and Zack Brooks (2). Dixon Grimes was in net.

In second game of the week the Devil's would skate to a 4-1 win  against the Clarington Toro's.  Scoring for the Devil's was Ben White (2), Connor Brooks and Zack Brooks.  Assists from Nathanial Burelle and Luke LaPalm.  Ethan Fraser was in net and Blake Maracle was awarded player of the game. 

Madison Excavating - Minor Peewee
The Madison Excavating Minor Peewees secured another 6 points in league play and further cushioned their first place position in the East.

On Wednesday, January 17th the Devils played host for a midweek matchup with the Kingston Jr. Frontenacs. Quinte came out strong and by the end of the first set, they had a commanding lead of 5-0. Scoring in the first were Liam Philip with a hat trick, Thomas Kuipers and Ty Therrien. Assisting were Beckett Ewart(2), Jared Langdon and Gage Butcher. Therrien would add the only goal of the second on the set up from Braedyn Rogers. While the Fronts snuck one past Mike McIvor in net during the third, he turned the rest away. The Devils sealed a 9-1 victory with 3 goals in the third coming from Butcher, Therrien for his hat trick of the game and Brody Partridge. Assists came from Rylan Reid, Landon Wright and Ben Vreugdenhil.

Saturday had the Devils hosting a double header at QSWC against the Oshawa Generals. Making up a snowed out game, the Devils hit the ice Saturday morning ready to play. Quinte wasted no time as Langdon would get his hat trick in the first period to make it a 3-0 game going into the second. Assisting in the first were Ewart with 3 and Philip. In the second, Therrien would add to the lead with a tip in on a shot from the point by Deacon Ellis and Philip would score another, on the pass from Langdon, to secure the 5-0 win. Dean Spry recorded the shut out in net for the Devils.

Game two Saturday showed that the Devils were there to win as they came back out flying to face the Generals in the afternoon. Again Quinte poured on the offence in the first with Partridge scoring the first, quickly followed Langdon and Ewart. Assisting on the goals were Therrien, Ewart and Philip. Therrien would score the lone goal in the second on the beauty pass from Butcher. The Devils wasted no time adding to their lead in the third as Wright, Philip and Butcher would each add one and make it a 7-0 game in their favour. Assisting in the third was Ellis with 2. McIvor would take the second shut out of the day for the Devils in the net.

On Deck : The Madison Excavating Minor Peewees will be on the road to Little Britain on Sunday to take on the Central Ontario Wolves.
