The U15 Free Flow Petroleum Red Devils Pick up Two Wins in ETA Play
On Saturday, the Free Flow Petroleum U15s hosted the Richmond Hill Coyotes for an afternoon match-up in Belleville. Both teams were held scoreless in the first and traded goals in the second frame. Scoring for Quinte was Liam Campbell, with Tavin MacDonald and Blake Brown drawing assists. Jake Campbell, assisted by Kaden Koutoulides and Ryan Kinghan would net the game winner, midway through the third period. Cohen Bedore played a solid game in net to pick up the 2-1 win.
On Sunday, the Devils traveled to Clarington to face the Toros. Opening scoring early for the QRD was Jack Foley (L. Campbell, Graydon Walst). Less than a minute later, Liam Grant (Ryan Sherwin and Noah Lesser) hit the net. Foley (Matthew Airhart and MacDonald) would then net his second of the night and what would turn out to be the game winner. Quinte would be up by 5 goals by the end of the first with Kinghan (J. Campbell and Koutroulides) and Airhart (L. Campbell and Foley) each adding a point. Clarington would score twice in the second frame, with Kinghan (Airhart) potting his second of the night for Devils. Quinte would keep the pressure on in the third as Kinghan (Walst and Rhett Colson) would get the hattrick! Grant (Ryan Babbs), Colson (Cole Rowat and Sherwin), Koutroulides, and L. Campbell would round out the 11-2 victory with Otsirkatste Brant picking up the win in net.
ON DECK: The Free Flow Petroleum U15s host the Central Ontario Wolves mid-week on Wednesday, 830pm at QSWC. On Saturday, they are at home again vs. the York-Simcoe Express, 2pm at QSWC.

The McInroy Maines U18 Quinte Red Devils hosted one game at home this past week and went on to compete in the Steve Richey Peterborough Tournament over the weekend.
Tuesday had the Devils play host on the CAA to the Kingston Gaels in regular season play. In a dominant win of 9-2 over the Gaels, the Quinte team played a strong offensive game. With a score of 2-1 for the Devils in the first, they came out determined in the next two periods to take the win. Scoring in the first were Joey Coates, unassisted and Gage Butcher, assisted by Wyatt Gregory and Beau Reade. The second saw the team add 4 goals to their lead with goals from Justin Murdoch, Carter McKee (2) and Ben Vreugdenhil. Assisting in the second were Jared Woolley(2), Coates, Trent Williams(2), Luke Jarmin and Vreugdenhil. The third would see McKee close out the game with another 2 goals for a 4 goal game and Murdoch with his second of the game. Assisting in the third were William, Coates(2), Vreugdenhil, Cooper Kellar and Jarmin. Dean Spry was between the pipes for the Devils for the win.
Tournament play started on Thursday night in Norwood as the U18s faced the Mississauga Rebels. The Devils came out strong, scoring 3 goals in the first to take a 3-0 lead to close the period. Goals came from Gregory, Woolley and McKee while the assists came from Liam Storms(2), Thomas Elkins and Trent Williams. The Rebels tucked once past Glen McInnes in net but it would be the only one as the Devils took the 3-1 victory.
Day 2 of the Tournament had the team back in Norwood for a match up with the New Liskeard Cubs. Again, the Devils came out strong in the first with 3 goals, Gregory and Coates (2), assists from Storms, Reade, McKee, Kellar and Jarmin. Coates would get his hat trick goal in the second, while Elkins would add another to the lead. Assisting in the second were Woolley, Ty McCambridge and Butcher. The third period would see Thomas Kuipers snipe 2, one unassisted and the other a set up from Keenan Wiles. Spry was in net for the 7-3 win by the Devils. Game 2 of the day had the Devils facing the London Jr. Knights that evening. The Devils were held off the scoreboard in the first and while they tied the score at 1-1 in the second with a goal from Coates, assisted by Murdoch and Deacon Ellis, it wasn't enough to claim the win as the Knights added two more to their tally in the third for a 1-3 loss for the Devils. McInnes was in net for the loss.
Tournament Day 3 had the team playing in Peterborough to fight for the spot in the quarter finals against the Halton Hurricanes. In a tight back and forth game with two of the three periods ending scoreless, it was the Devils who came out victorious with the lone goal of the game in the second from Wiles, assisted by Woolley and Vreugdenhil. Spry was in net for the shut out. Quarter finals of the tournament were set for that evening matching up the top tiered teams from the divisions. The Devils would face off with the North York Rangers. In another nail biter game, the three periods would all end scoreless and force the game into a sudden death 3 on 3, 5 minute period. It was Kuipers, assisted by Kellar and Wiles who sealed the win for the Devils and advanced them into the semis on Sunday morning.
An early morning semifinals game in Peterborough saw the Devils match up with an ETA rival in the Ajax Pickering Raiders. Once again, the Devils took a first period lead on another goal from McKee on the set up from Woolley but the Raiders tied the game up in the second. With a 1-1 game headed into the third, the game was set to go either way and while the Devils tied it up once in the period with an unassisted goal from Coates, they could not tie it up a second time and succumbed to the 3-2 loss. Spry was strong in net for the Devils for the game.
ON DECK: The McInroy Maines U18s have just one game on Friday night in Whitby on the schedule as they take on the Wildcats.

The Pita Pit U16 Quinte Red Devils Win 1 of 3 Games
The U16 Pita Pit Quinte Red Devils took on the Kingston Junior Gaels on Tuesday Night in Kingston. It was a tight game, start to finish but the Red Devils took the win 2-0. Liam Boyer had the shutout and Evan Erwin had Quinte’s first goal. Brody Nielissen ensured the win, late in the third with an empty net goal.
On Thursday evening, the Red Devils hosted the Whitby Wildcats. It was a fast-paced, close game but the Wildcats took the win 3-2. Reece Herman stood strong in net and goals were scored by Sunny Fanjoy and Deke Osterhout.
At home on Saturday, the Pita Pit Red Devils were hoping to take two more points from the Markham Waxers but came up short with a 6-3 loss, the Waxers 6th goal being an empty netter. Liam Boyer took the start in net and Reece Herman finished the game. Quinte’s goals were scored by Avery Wease, Mason Boyer and Owen Cassidy.
ON DECK: The Pita Pit U16 Quinte Red Devils host the Peterborough Petes on Tuesday (8:15pm). On Thursday, they hit the road to take on the Central Ontario Wolves. Over the weekend, the Red Devils have two more road games-on Saturday in Ajax-Pickering and on Sunday they play against the Oshawa Generals. Good luck Red Devils.

The U14 Quinte E360 Solutions Red Devils completed the season sweep of the Markham Waxers, with 3-1 and 1-0 wins over the Waxers in ETA league play this week.

ON DECK: The U14 Quinte E360 Solutions Red Devils host the Oshawa Generals on Saturday, January 28th at QSWC, 12:30pm. On Sunday, they travel to Richmond Hill to face the Coyotes.

It was a busy week for the Gillespie's Tree Service U13 Red Devils.
The team had to travel to Whitby for a Friday night game, and it wasn't pretty. The U13s gave up 6 goals as they lost 6-1. Coach Durant said " It's all about winning or learning. You have to be consistent in the league." QRD has been mostly consistent but gave Whitby credit for just out working them. Brechyn Aird had a lone goal on the power play and Lauchlan Whelan and Trent Clow added the assists on QRD's only goal. Nathan Ferriss who was sharp unfortunately got the loss in net.
On Saturday QRD was home to Oshawa at the Baltimore rink and came back with a great performance. Ryerson Swan got the start and was injured halfway through the second when an Oshawa player ran into the net. Swan shook it off and hung in there and got the 5-2 win. Ewan Dahle had another multi-goal game while Brechyn Aird scored for the second time in two games. Joey Seguin and Andrew Laurin added singles for QRD. Assists went to Whelan 2, Hooey, 2, Clow, Seguin, Lowry, Harold and B Aird. Next on tap was against the rival Peterborough Pete's.
On Sunday we took on the red-hot Pete's. Nathan Ferris got the start and was excellent in the pipes. Even though Peterborough took a 1-0 lead, it didn't stop QRD. Andrew Laurin opened up the scoring with his first off two on the night. Lauchlan Whelan decided to get in on the scoring and added two of his own. In the end QRD who has had a tough time scoring added three more with Trent Clow, Joey Seguin and Ewan Dahle getting in on the action.
Liam Marion who came back to Quinte after spending a year with the Pete's added 3 helpers along with Seguin 3, Martin, Harold, Brechyn Aird 2 and Laurin. With winning 7-1 it put some distance between QRD and a few other teams chasing that top spot. Coach Belej, who is the associate head coach said it was a complete team effort. "It took every guy to compete and play all 45 min. We are proud of the players and we know that Peterborough is a great team, so the next match up will be a good one."

The Bonn Law QRD U12 Team went three for three in ETA League play this past week.
On Wednesday evening, The Devils travelled to Woodville for a make-up game vs the Central Ontario Wolves. In a fast paced, back and forth game, the teams exchanged goals in the first period. The team defence went to work shutting down the COW offence and Dax Sage made some fantastic saves, before Zachary Miedema buried the game winning goal halfway through the third period. Holden Goulah added a pair of goals in the third period, and the Devils went on to win the game 4-1. Chipping in with assists on the goals; Cameron Stevens (3), Shea Teather, Mason Whalen and Austin Pettey. Dax Sage was named player of the game.
On Friday evening, The Red Devils would host The Ajax Pickering Raiders in Marmora. After a scoreless first period, the Devils offence went to work, scoring five unanswered goals on their way to a 5-0 win. Austin Pettey led the way, with two goals and one assist. Also lighting in the game was Cameron Stevens, Thomas Marsden and Brody Grant. Adding assists; Grant (3), Teather (2), Marsden. Matthew Travers was solid in net to earn the shutout. Cameron Stevens was player of the game.
In their third game of the week, The U12 Red Devils hosted the Markham Waxers at 1:00pm on Saturday afternoon in Colborne. Once again, the game was scoreless after the opening period. This time it was Thomas Marsden who got his team on the board with a blast from the point. Zach Miedema, Cameron Stevens, Jaxson Plummer and James Gullage all added goals in the game in a 5-1 win. Picking up assists in this one was Noah Hughes (2), Mason Whalen, Shea Teather, Holden Goulah, Miller Nicholson, Oliver McCulloch and Brody Grant. Dax Sage was sharp in net for the win. Thomas Marsden was named player of the game.
ON DECK: The Bonn Law U12 Devils are on the road Friday evening, 7:30 pm at Ajax, Saturday they are in Marmora at 3:30pm VS The York Simcoe Express and Sunday they head to Oshawa for 12:45 pm.

The Madison Excavating U11 Quinte Red Devils hosted the Richmond Hill Coyotes on Sunday, adding two points to their overall standings. Cooper Plumley opened up the scoring six minutes and forty-one seconds into the first period, giving QRD the lead going into the second. A mere one minute and six seconds into the second, Coulter Watson scored what would end up being the game-winning goal, extending QRD’s lead to 2-0. The Devils were on a streak; Everett Brown sniped a shot past the goalie twenty-seven seconds after the second QRD goal. Dylan Chalk would then score a fourth goal for QRD, four and a half minutes later. Even though they had a healthy lead, the Devils were just getting warmed up. Hewett Tejnor then let a bomb go from the point, only to be followed eighteen seconds later by a beauty from Kade Osterhout. It wasn’t until six minutes before the end of the second period, that the Coyotes would score their lone goal. The Devils took their 6-1 lead into the third period, where they continued their strong team play. Kade Whelan and Everett Brown each scored in the third period, giving QRD an 8-1 victory. QRD worked well as a team, getting scoring from seven different players. Hayden Tripp was solid in net, helping to pick up the win.
Coach’s Corner with Head Coach Andrew Brown: “We had a lot of fun in the only game of the weekend. We executed our game plan and look forward to lots of practice time leading up to our last 3 games of the regular season.”
ON DECK: The Madison Excavating U11 Quinte Red Devils will travel to Peterborough to take on the Petes on Saturday, February 4th.

The Foley Bus Lines U10 Red Devils Have a Four Point Weekend
The U10 Foley Bus Lines Devils won both games this weekend picking up four points.Saturday it was a home game in Marmora against the Markham Waxers. Quinte skated to a 8-0 win. Evan Andrews had a hat trick, while Max Norton picked up two goals and Cohen Reid, Noah Gilchrist and Kash Nelson rounded out the scoring. Assists went to Gilchrist (3), Graydon Tucker, Will Beebe, Andrews and Matt Dawson. Blake Laurin made some great saves on the way to the shut out.
Sunday, the Red Devils headed up the 401 to take on the Ajax-Pickering Raiders. The game was a penalty-filled affair with back and forth action. The first period was scoreless with both goalies making some big saves. A few minutes into the second period Ajax-Pickering would score but later in the frame Ethan Dowling would jam home a rebound with Linden Ludolph picking up the assist. The score after two periods was 1-1. The third period was as entertaining as it gets. AJP would open up the period’s scoring two minutes in, making it 2-1 for the Raiders. Two minutes later Evan Andrews would tie the game from the slot with a pass from Matt Dawson. It was less than a minute later that Kash Nelson scored to give Quinte the lead with Sebastien Smit and Max Norton picking up the assists. Nelson would once again score with six minutes left in the game with Ryker Thompson assisting. That would be the game's last goal making the final 4-2 for Quinte. Lily Groeneveld played a great game in net and picked up the win. Jaxon Elrick was named player of the game.
ON DECK: The Foley Bus Lines U10 Red Devils have two weekend home games. Saturday in Marmora at 2PM vs Clarington Toros and Sunday it is Sponsor Appreciation Day with a game at 1:30PM at the QSWC (CAA) vs York-Simcoe Express.
