Only 1 point for your Foley Bus Lines Major Bantams this weekend.
It was a tough weekend for
the Major Bantams as they recorded their first loss.
On Friday the Devils travelled west down the 401 to Oshawa to take on the Generals. Oshawa would take a 2 – 0 lead after the first period. Quinte would answer back in the second scoring 2 goals within the first 5 minutes of the period. Both teams would then score again to make it 3 -3 until 2 minutes left in the period when the Generals would find the back of the net one more time to take a 4 – 3 lead going into the final period. In the third the Generals would score the only goal of the period to take a 5 – 3 win and hand the Devils their first loss of the regular season.
The next day Quinte would host the Whitby Wildcats for their first match up of the season. Quinte would open the scoring at the 6:26 mark of the first period and take a 1 – 0 lead. The second period was back and forth. The Wildcats would tie the game at 1 – 1 then Quinte would answer back and take the lead again. The Wildcats would tie the game at 2 -2 then Quinte again would answer back and take a 3 – 2 lead heading into the third. The rest of the game was back and forth just like the second period. In an 8 minute and 30 second span Whitby would score 3 times and the Devils twice. Final score of the game was 5 -5.
Next action is this Thursday against the Central Ontario Wolves. Puck drop is 8:15pm at the QSWC (Family Dental Centre).
