The Foley Bus Lines Minor
Midget Red Devils closed out their regular season schedule this past Saturday
as they hosted the Markham Waxers. Quinte got on the board in the first in this
one and added another early in the second to go up by two. The Waxers scored to
close the gap to one late in the second before the Devils scored a shorthanded
goal to restore the two goal lead before the flood.
Although the stingy Waxers drew blood early in the third, the QRD boys managed to add a couple insurance markers three minutes apart mid frame of the third to close out the contest with the 5-2 victory. With the Devils first place finish in the regular season standings, they earned a first round bye and a solid week of practice while they await the winner of a 4 points series between Clarington (9th place) and Barrie (8th place). Next Action…..Playing recently down a few players, the Devils get a chance to get healthy and work on some details in practice and wait for the winner of Barrie/Clarington. Look for the QRD OMHA quarter final series to begin the weekend of February 7th at home. Also, don’t forget to mark your calendars for March 6-8th as the Foley Bus Lines 2004 Red Devils look to repeat as OMHA Champs as they host the OMHA AAA Minor Midget Championship at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre with hopes of representing the Quinte region at the OHL Cup March break in Toronto.
