Jan. 15-21 Weekly Report
The McInroy Maines U18 Quinte Red Devils had a busy week as they hosted a midweek match up against the Kingston Gaels and then headed to Peterborough for the Steve Richey Tournament.

The midweek game gave the Devils the win as they upset the Gaels in an overtime win. After a scoreless first period that saw the teams battling back and forth, the Gaels hit the scoreboard first in the second set and it stayed that way until later in the third when Ryland Harvey scored from the point on the set up from Evan Erwin and Deke Osterhout. When standard time came to an end and the game was stalemated at 1-1 the game was pushed into OT. It was Kaden Byne who scored for the Devils to take the win, assisted by Osterhout and Deacon Ellis. Ben Lind-Milevist was in net for the win.

The Devils packed up and headed to Peterborough for the Steve Richey Tournament. Game one was on Thursday evening with a match up against the North Bay Trappers. The game was back and forth with the first and second period ending scoreless for both teams. In the very dying seconds of the third period it was Quinte's Connor Weido on the pass from Sam Thompson who tipped the scales in the Devils favour to take the 1-0 win. Ryan Jacobs was between the pipes for the win.

Game two, the first of two on Friday had the Devils face off against the Newfoundland Trippen Osprey. It was the Devils on the scoreboard first with a goal from Harvey, assisted by Byne. It was Brody Nielissen who scored in the second on the set up from Evan Erwin but it was the Osprey who had the lead at the end of the second. By game end the Trippen team lead and won the game 2-5 and gave the Devils their first loss of the tournament. Benjamin Lind-Milekvist was in net for the loss.

The Devils took on the Okanagan Hockey School for game three at the Norwood Community Centre. Quinte came out strong and took the lead in the game, landing first on the scoreboard with a goal from Osterhout, assisted by Ellis and Byne. Adding two more to their lead in the second from Nielissen and Theo Lavender, on the set ups from Byne and Ellis. Byne would add on in the third alongside the final goal of the game from AP Hunter Gulliver, assisted by Lavender. Final score was 5-1 Devils with Jacobs in net for the win.  

Game four of the tournament was a tough match up against the Halton Hurricanes at the Memorial in Peterborough. The Devils were left scoreless against the Hurricanes and took a very tough 0-7 loss to close up their tournament run. Lind-Milekvist stood tall for a heavy shot game in net.
