The Breakaway Fuels U10’s grabbed three more playoff wins
while surrendering just two goals.
The week started Thursday night in Baltimore when the young
devils hosted the Oshawa Generals. They
would score one in the first before opening the game up with 5 straight in the second. The Generals wouldn’t give up and would score
a pair in the third to match the two Quinte would score. Final score was 8-2. Deacon Vos would grab the win in net and
Kolton Solmes would take home the fork for his solid 40 minute effort.
Saturday would find the boys hosting the North Central
Predators at the Keeler Centre in Coleborne.
This game was all Devils as the kids would score on their first 4 shifts
and go on to score 5 goals in each period to post a 15-0 win. Jordan Andrews grabbed the win between the
pipes and the entire team would be awarded the Devils fork for a complete team
effort and continuing to play QRD hockey despite the lopsided score.
Sunday found the Breakaway boys in a rematch with the Generals
in Oshawa. This was a tight checking
affair from the start and despite chances from both teams the game would remain
scoreless until late in the second when Quinte would score two quick ones on
the same shift. The third period was all
Quinte and they would score 4 more to pick up their second straight shutout with
a 6-0 win. Deacon Vos picked up the win
in net and along with Kai Mackie would take home the Devils fork.
With an 8-0 playoff record the Breakaway Fuels U10 Red
Devils have just two playoff games left next weekend. Saturday has them in Marmora for their final
home game of the year against the Markham Waxers and Sunday has them on a long
road trip north to take on the Predators in North Central in a St Patrick’s Day
battle.
